The Wild Animal Park

Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums

Animal park home to tigers, bears & giraffes, with bouncing castles & regular events for kids.

We did the zoo, but not the drive thru safari. We bought 4 cups of food when purchasing tickets to enter and 2 chips for giraffe food (carrots). We very much enjoyed feeding all the goats/kids, llama, alpaca, and giraffes. Family members did buy bird feed and entered the bird area. The birds flocked to them and perched on their arms, shoulders, hands, and head. Some birds did try to bite at freckles/moles on arms, which was not pleasant, but if birds are your thing it's fun I'm sure. Staff was nice and very knowledgeable about animals. Zoo was clean and there's a nice menu for lunch with shaded seating area. When entering, they advised us outside food or drink is prohibited but I asked about water bottles and they said it was fine. I have a 6 year old and 2 year old and both were very entertained for a few hours.

Cool zoo, feeding the giraffes were pretty fun! Train is skippable, not much to see there and it was so slow, you can save some feeding stuff for the drive thru Safari too! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area! Fun activity for kids and families.

Rita L — Google review

Visited today for the first time since they opened a few years ago. Loved how much it expanded and how healthy the animals look. It was great being able to see the animals as well. My reasoning for 4 stars was the staffs riding around on the gators. They drive extremely fast for a place full of kids walking around. The staff also weren’t the politest when asking our 2 year old to move for them to continue flying around the park. The drive through safari was great and we all loved that experience.

Brittany B — Google review

It's a really cute place, it's kinda small but it was really enjoyable. Also you can feed and pet goats and giraffes. All in all its small but is one my favorite zoos that I've been to.

Amber U — Google review

The family and I went there yesterday. The kids loved every part of the zoo. From feeding the goat's, sheep and giraffe too the bounce house. My son loved the tiger and lions. It's a very well kept and clean place. There is plenty of things to do with the kiddos. We would definitely be coming back

Dave J — Google review

Great place to visit - alone or with family. Animals very well taken care of, staff friendly and helpful. So many beautiful cats - the sloth is adorable. Everywhere I looked people were smiling, really enjoyable place and you can tell the workers love what they're doing and where they are working.

Theresa J — Google review

What a wonderful way to spend the day 💕.Even with the heat, quite a few of the animals came outside. The baby goats are so cute, and the giraffes we're very comical when it comes to getting carrots from you. All in all, great time!!And down the road is a drive-thru Safari! I'll definitely go to that!

Lori T — Google review

Truly an amazing experience. Friendly and nice staff. Clean and very well maintained areas for the animals. Always saw a person around taking care of the animals habitat.

We've been to the drive through safari several times and have always had a great experience. This time, we decided to try The Beast - the open-air tour-guided bus. Our guide narrated almost the entire hour of our tour, making it very interesting and informative. The openness of the bus makes the animals a little more accessible than they are when you drive through in your own vehicle and it was easy for both people in the seat to feed the animals. It's not an inexpensive experience, but it's worth it, and it's a wonderful attraction for our small community. When you drive through with your own vehicle, you have an opportunity to purchase the zoo admission at a discount with a combo-package. However, when you tour the safari on The Beast, there is no combo available to attend the zoo. This was my only disappointment. PS - the bus was full of people during the tour - the group photo shown here was only our family photo op after the tour. :)

My friend and I went to the Wild Animal Park and had an amazing time. The facility was clean, the staff was happy and friendly and most importantly the animals all had very nice enclosures that seemed so much nicer than other zoos I have seen. We did the parakeet encounter which was so cool, we fed the giraffes which was intimidating but well worth it and we also did the sloth encounter which was the neatest experience we have ever had. We did buy the combo pass so we did the safari as well. The safari was neat, but not for the faint of heart with how pushy ostrich’s can be haha Overall, I highly recommend going to the wild animal park!!

Ashley C — Google review

Awesome drive through animal park. Tons of animals and you get to feed them with cups of feed you buy at the entrance. Staff was great and all of the animals were super friendly. Highly recommend, just be prepared for the animals to rub on your vehicle, whether you have food or not. If you don't want to take your own vehicle you can ride The Beast and hand out food to the animals while a guide gives you a tour.

Forest L — Google review

This place is amazing. Now that the weather is nicer, they have included so many new animals. They even had anteaters this time. I recommend this zoo 1,000 times over! Especially bring your children. When I went for the first time, my children got to hold a baby kangaroo and had their picture taken with it.

Kara C — Google review

Just got home from the 1-2 person Sloth experience. Has to be in the top 5 most awesome experiences of my life....and I have 3 kids!!!! Very educational, incredible staff, very hands on, absolutely adorable & curious creatures. The baby is 10 months old. Will definitely be back with a larger group.

Kevin M — Google review

Loved that we saw more animals here than at the zoo. My girls loved feeding the goats and giraffes. Little on the pricey side for admission but in today’s time with food prices I can understand that. Great family day!

Emily C — Google review

The Wild is a great place to see a large variety of animals as well as feed some. They have all the large Cats and two types of Bears. Giraffes and penguins, too.You can pay more for one on one experiences with some animals, not the dangerous ones. There are places to eat, pan for gems or fossils, feed Giraffes, or close yourself in a house full of colorful little hungry parakeets with a seed stick (my personal nightmare) and three bounce houses (decent sized under a roof with an arcade). The Wild has improved and grown itself over the years into a wonderful place to bring family friends and children for a few hours or all day and if you have children should be on your summer to do list.

Brian P — Google review

Recently visited - we had a good time in general. I find it a bit ridiculous when establishments like this do not allow outside food/drink so that you are forced to purchase their overpriced food. The entrance/exit in the main building is a disaster. People leaving/entering and checking out from the gift shop all in the same place. The entire main building smelled like public restrooms - the restrooms were also gag-worthy. They have updated a lot of the exhibits and they appear to have a lot more goats. The most disappointing aspect of the trip was the condition of some of these goats - some heavily pregnant. They are badly in need of a farrier; so many of their hooves are overgrown and look painful. We also noticed a larger breed of goat near the seating/food area who seemed to have some real trouble crossing the bridge over the water. Sad!

Megan C — Google review

Was an amazing day out with the kids! The animals are not shy by any means! I only recommend if you do go there drive close to one side so if you have to stop for the animals surrounding your car (camels) no one will be stuck behind you. The people in front of us were stuck for 20 minutes as they surrounded their car but gave us room to get around!

Giovanna H — Google review

Wow! Love this big zoo! Lots of bigger animals to see and it’s so impressive to see them moving around (lucky day! Sometimes they’re very sleepy). We also paid extra to feed giraffes with carrots, so much fun>.< drive in safari was not open yet for the season but they do have it. Also, kids favorite bouncy house! Extra 3-5 bucks for it.

Chloe J — Google review

The Wild Winter Wonderland of Lights was fun for the kids. There were many light displays to check out and animals that were out. They were able to feed the birds and goats. We enjoyed the outdoor fire while we had some snacks. There were bounce houses and pictures with Santa. Those were for an additional fee.

Jenn T — Google review

This place has come along way from the last time I was there years ago. It looks AMAZING. Very fresh and clean, so many exotic animals. Lots of money was put back into it. The displays are well done, has a theme park vibe going on. Great job to the ones responsible. The food was good and not to overpriced (thank you). My family and I will be back again soon!!!!!!

Justin K — Google review

We love coming here. I'm not a big fan of the zoos but the animals look very well taken care of here. This was the 1st time we attended to see the lights, it was beautiful.

Ivanna P — Google review

This tour was amazingly well done. The tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions and did a very good job making sure Dolly didn't steal all the food.10/10 would go again can't wait to see the new exhibit she couldn't tell us about yet. You got me to return good strategy.

Brandon — Google review

I always enjoy coming here. It's so much more interactive than other zoos. My daughter always looks forward to The Wild. I think this is her 4th visit? There were some new or different animals since the last time I came, which is nice. I think we spent more time feeding the giraffes and goats than doing anything elseMy only complaint is that it's getting more expensive. I understand that it's not cheap running the place. I get it, and I cannot imagine the costs involved just with feed aloneWe'll be returning again before the weather gets cold, I'm sure. Maybe next time we'll spend more time feeding the ducks that time

Chris P — Google review

I have done many encounters, this place has some of the best. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The animals are well cared for.

Jill W — Google review

I have been bringing my daughter here for the last 3 years and was VERY impressed by the changes in the last year. Every year something new has been added and we are never bored feeling like we’re walking through the same things. Very clean and well kept, staff was very friendly pointing out the baby goats born recently at our visit on 5/3. Feeding the giraffes was a huge hit for all of us. This is one of the only zoos I’ve ever visited with such well maintained areas for the animals living there. Highly recommend!!

Nature & Parks

Park

Winding gorge trails & a footbridge offer views of a 167-ft. waterfall, with areas for picnics.

A hidden gem! Chittenango is a little way off the beaten path, but is worth your time! The falls are MUCH bigger than they appear on a brochure or the post cards that gave us the idea to stop by. Hundreds of little stair-steps make the 167-foot waterfall as if you're watching hundreds of little falls cascading down. The quick hike around was enjoyable, with only a short stretch of steep terrain. If you're anywhere near the area, it's definitely worth driving an hour or so out of your way to see it - especially if you enjoy waterfalls or a picnic in a relaxing meadow.

Ben B — Google review

I visited Chittenango Falls State Park for the first time just this month of October 2022, and I could not believe the beauty of it during the Fall season, it was like a wonderland. My husband and I loved walking and gazing at the beautiful trees and walking trails, and watching the Falls. This is a beautiful place for the family to come for a picnic and walking. It would be a great place for wedding pictures too! We will be coming back, no doubt!

The P — Google review

Chittenango Falls State Park is a small park with a big waterfall! The trail to the waterfall is well marked and found near the parking lot. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and be careful because it can be steep. The trail goes down one side of the waterfall and takes you to a bridge in front of the waterfall. The bridge is the best spot for pictures of the falls. After you cross the bridge the path goes up the other side of the waterfall and goes up stream from there. The trail is not very long, but it does provide much scenery. There are some other hiking trails in the park. None of them appeared to be very difficult, but they do provide a nice walk in the woods. There are also picnic areas, restrooms, and a baseball field. There is an entry fee to get into the park. If you have an Empire Pass this will cover your fee. No camping is allowed.A great place to spend a few hours!

Rohit R — Google review

This waterfall is one of my favorites! Sometimes you can walk down to the bottom (there was one time I was there and the trail was closed off.) Great picnic place, spread out somewhere green and enjoy your meal. I usually bring a book and find a place near the falls, where I can listen to the water, take a ton of photos and play around with video. Families love it here, I always see many children running around enjoying the views.

Theresa J — Google review

Always clean, and the falls are different in regards to how strong the flow is every time I’ve come. It was freezing outside so I only stopped quick this time to show my two older girls the top of the falls now vs when I brought them when they were much younger. they remembered going on the bridge and into the water beneath the falls prior so I loved that they were able to compare the differences in the water strength, flow, quantity due to seasonal weather change alone. It wasn’t crowded, always clean , some spots on stairs weee slippery of course due to the temp and the water from the falls so be cautious. Just another great spot to unwind and relax.

Tara B — Google review

I went to this park today and I have to say, it was way more than I ever could have hoped! After paying the (very reasonable) $5 per car entry fee and finding a place to park, which was easy seeing as it was 10 am on a Tuesday, I started down the Gorge Trail. (Side note: the bathrooms here are very clean and look newly constructed.) A word of warning: the trails are quite slippery, especially after rain, so I would strongly suggest wearing hiking boots or some type of grippy footwear. There are 5 main viewing points: 2 on either side of the top of the waterfall, 2 on either side about halfway down the waterfall and a footbridge at the base of the waterfall. All of them offer gorgeous views of the waterfall, but in my opinion the view from the footbridge outpaces all the others. The hike itself isn’t very difficult but it might offer some challenges for beginners due to how steep it is. I slipped a couple times on the way down but thankfully didn’t hurt myself. It might be difficult to tell from some of the pictures but the falls themselves are huge! I mean I know it says that they’re 167 feet tall but you don’t really realize how tall that actually is until you are staring it in the eye! The sheer amount of vegetation that is to be growing out of the rocks was also shocking to me! Like everywhere you look, there is some kind of plant that seems to be completely at home in a place you never would have thought possible! At first glance, I honestly thought I was in the Amazon rainforest, not central New York! In conclusion, I would very strongly recommend to anyone!

After parking you can walk down a paved trail to a beautiful overlook of the falls. This short, paved, walk makes it accessible for all ages and disability's. The overlook is fenced off for safety to allow optimal viewing of the drop-off into the gorge as it's surrounded by beautiful landscape (especially in the Fall). There is also a pavilion and playground for families to settle in and enjoy their time visiting.

Stephen M — Google review

This was an experience unlike any other. We traveled the Gorge Trail to get to the waterfall. Once there the atmosphere was inviting and calming. The sky looked as if it was painted and for a moment it felt as if the world around us paused. It’s the perfect place to release any doubts and fears into the universe and take in all the positivity and abundance the world has to offer ✨

Chittenango falls State Park is beautiful. Different points to see The falls before and after the falls. 2 / view is spectacular! It's a steep walk and a little rocky but not too bad at all. There are restrooms and plenty of places for a picnic. It's well worth the time to seek out this little spot of beauty.

Went in and was there alone on a Thursday afternoon. Very beautiful and nice hiking trails. Too bad we can't go in the water. Restrooms were closed, but picnic and parking area were opened. There was construction, so perhaps they will reopen soon.

Went on a Tuesday around 4pm so didn’t pay anything for parking. Beautiful and relaxing. Wasn’t crowded at all. Not a lot of walking, just some stairs to climb down to the falls viewing.

Humayra A — Google review

Falls are purely magical and magnificent - they are much taller than how it appears in photos. It is very easily accessible from the parking lot, there's a cute little bridge at the bottom of the falls as well as some landings. No special hiking shoes are needed to walk down to the bottom - we saw elderly as well as kids doing it.

J. — Google review

Definitely need to wear the right shoes for those walk, which I didn't. My fault, of course. Beautiful falls. It's a downhill walk to see them, and the walk back up is a little tiring. We'll worth it!

Lovely small state park that is very well maintained and perfect for a picnic. The day use rate is just $5 per car. The hike down to the creek with awesome views of the beautiful double waterfall is easy. I showed pictures to a friend who thought they had to be created by AI.

Great place to go with kids.... they can play inside the river... it is a beautiful park ... The stairs down are very very steep and uneven so do not go on a rainy day and if you cant easily go down and up almost 100 stairs some very high might want to just stay up at the park or see the waterfall from the top only.... Park is very clean so are the bathrooms..... Nature is so beautiful around there even just to drive by :)

One of the majestic falls in the State of New York. Falls are easily accessible with a short and easy hike.Beautiful and well maintained park; includes restrooms, playground 🛝, picnic areas and ample parking space.

This State Park is a beautiful location to explore with amazing waterfall views. The Town is roughly 20 minutes away with a yellow brick paved sidewalk.

C J — Google review

Beautiful stop for fresh air on our drive home from the eclipse. Hiked with a small group of friends who had young children. Sadly there was a dead deer in plain sight at the lower bridge. Only the family bathroom is open right now.

Jen O — Google review

We visited the Chittenango falls on a holiday weekend but it wasn't too crowded, which was awesome! The falls are really pretty, open for viewing till sunset and a side view is visible at a slight walking distance from the parking lot (We paid $5 for parking). But if you want the front view, be ready to walk down and then up some stairs and some rugged pathways to reach the bridge that faces the falls. If you prefer fewer stairs, the path at the opposite end of the parking lot is the one to take, but it is an equally steep climb, mind you! You can even dip your legs in the water below the bridge, but the rocks there are sharp and slightly slippery!Overall, it was a very pretty waterfall and a fun 0.5 mile trail to get to it! The green lakes state park is just 15 minutes away and it is worth a visit as well.

Neha V — Google review

It's worth the hike back up. Some steep steps for short legs but overall not too bad. I am not a hiker. :)

Today’s visit to the winery was an exceptional experience, combining culinary delight with stunning views. The food was exquisitely prepared, Mike and I decided on our own wood fire pizza, it was deliciously fresh, that perfectly complemented the wine and margarita. The flavors were robust and beautifully balanced, making every bite amazing.Sitting on the patio, the views were nothing short of breathtaking. Overlooking the rolling vineyards, the scenery added a serene backdrop to the meal. The combination of delicious food, superb wine, and picturesque surroundings made for an amazing enjoyable lunch with my husband.. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in a sensory feast.

I’m sorry, I’m not one to leave negative reviews…It was our 22nd wedding anniversary and my wife was very excited about going to Owera. We had 6:00 reservations, arrived early and got seated outside immediately, great start! After 10 minutes a waitress came by and said she’d be right back..another 10 minutes another waitress stopped by and asked to take a drink order. Ordered a wine and a mixed drink and an appetizer. After 45 minutes we still had no drink, no water and no appetizer. We’re sitting in the hot sun, we left.

Kurt A — Google review

Have gone to Owera many times but tonight was absolutely the worst. A beautiful Thursday night, should have figured out why the parking lot was empty when we arrived at 6:00 that things had changed. 50% of the menu was not available and even the pizza that we settled on was missing ingredients. It’s too bad for they have spent so much on the beautiful decor and surrounding. The wine is always very good. Maybe they should just have food trucks and a bar! Just a thought.

Gorgeous tasting room, excellent service, knowledgeable staff, and delicious wines! The tasting room is newly opened with something for everyone including beer, seltzer, and co*cktail options alongside so much great wine (try the Betty’s White!). Televisions and food as well. There’s also a lovely tasting space to the side of the main room for small groups. Highly recommend!!!

I don't often write negative reviews but had a bad experience here. My wife and I drove 45 minutes to get here after a long week of work on our organic farm. The woman who seated us was very nice, but then we sat there with our menus for 30 minutes as the waiter served the two tables on either side of us without checking in at all with us. I could understand if it was really busy or if we were seated out of view to be unintentionally neglected, but we were right in the middle and it wasn't busy at all. We left wondering if we were being judged for wearing jeans or driving up in an old Hyundai or if there was another reason we weren't being served. It's not a place we felt welcome or would visit again.

Alyssa W — Google review

Staff is great. Food is amazing and wine is terrific. A great place to spend some time and enjoy it all, including the view.It is a limited menu, as I would expect in this type of establishment. Can be pricey but it's very fresh, I watched a guy walk in with a box of lettuce being delivered as I was eating the same lettuce in my salad.Outdoor seating with plenty of room between tables.

Absolutely wonderful experience with Kristen!! We had a wine tasting and she did a great job explaining and recommending everything. She is super super sweet, and kind! The wine was great, the service was fantastic, and I wish I lived closer! 10/10 recommend.

Wonderful food, wine, and service. There was a lot of sharing going on, The outdoor seating was pleasant and warm. And the atmosphere was enjoyable also. Good times!!

I was invited to a soft launch party at Owera and it was incredible. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was Michelin quality. I ate the lobster ravioli and chocolate rib-eye. It was the most tender peice of meat I have ever tasted. My friend tried the mushroom ravioli and described it as the best thing she has ever put in her mouth. A must try for vegans and vegetarians. I sampled multiple wines but "The Betty's White" needs its own display case. The grounds are immaculate. I can't wait to come back. I highly recommend. Five Stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Emily T — Google review

Food is tasty and ample portions. They are still working out the service kinks, however.. Food for an entire table does not come out at the same time. It takes a long time for drinks to get to the table. The staff is very friendly and I feel the service will only get better.

Richard S — Google review

Cozy, rustic, and charming little vineyard restaurant. We had reservations at 5, arrived a little earlier and they seated us right away with no issues. Staff were warm and friendly, but sometimes a little TMI, with personal issues. The bar is beautiful and packed. Options to sit outside, with a fire pit. There are high top tables, and lower tables. Surprisingly as small as this restaurant is you aren’t shouting conversations. The wine is amazing. The food was hit and miss. The 5 ⭐️ meal was the Burrata Plate appetizer (photo). The dessert was poorly presented and executed as a plate of moldy grapes, a wedge of cheese, then piles of apricots, walnuts, and dark chocolate chopped. Was expecting something more decadent from a winery.

Jill — Google review

Waited for an hour and 45 minutes to get only one of our 3 ordered plates with the most below average food. They were short on staff, so service was understandably poor. Food options were limited and it took 20 minutes after being seated to get menus. We had to ask for silverware after getting our food and the one napkin they gave us had a hair on it. Views were pretty but they couldn’t distract from the bad experience.

Alyssa M — Google review

Been many times. Always exceptional. Definitely get some food here. The pizza is really good. We got the cheese charcuterie and it was very good also. The bartender was very nice and personable. They have a great selection of wines. Highly recommend.

Kevin K — Google review

Nice winery with great wine, nice tapas and a great sunset. Betty's White, Teddy's Red, Cazenovia Blush and Cazenozia 1793 are amazing. The brushetta was delicious. The bacon lollipops were good, a little thinker and fatty than we typically enjoy. French onion soup was cheesey and wonderful. The Steak/Shrimp/Veggie Trio was a little tough, but the green sauce was worth it. Overall, an enjoyable summer date night spot. They even had live music inside of you enjoy it (on Friday)

N S — Google review

While the place looks nice and the live music was ok, it has nothing else to brag about. The food took forever, way too long for the small order. It did not all come out together or taste good either. Additionally overpriced. The menu is limited, and there is not a description or photo of the food. my shrimp cakes looked ok, but tasted bland with too much pepper; a mushy bready mess. I did not try any wine myself, but was told they didn't like many of them. Would not recommend or return for any reason.

Joshua D — Google review

I'm not sure how places like this receive 5-star reviews. Is it because people are swayed by the beautiful views? Or perhaps they don't want to admit to themselves that they paid so much for a mediocre experience? Owera has what it takes to be a high-end restaurant, but they aren't there.. yet.If this review was based solely off of the scenic views, it's 4-stars. If I'm rating the service, it's 3.5-stars. The food (based on what we ate; we obviously did not eat the entire menu) is without a doubt 0-stars. The owners should go undercover one day to see for themselves a few hours before close. We went on 'Wine Down Wednesdays', which was a nice feature; half-off wines can't be beat. The Dry Riesling was acceptable, although lacking the standard aromatic features you would expect. There was no 'burst' of tropical fruit as portrayed in the description. The flavor was flat but refreshing. The views are peaceful and you get the feeling you are somewhere in the Finger Lakes. The server knew what she was talking about and was friendly. The service was slow. We asked for a side of shredded cheese for the pizza and waited five minutes as our pizza got cold. But don't be so quick to blame the server. Servers tend to be blamed for everything. Start with the owners first, then management, and then servers. Our food was a mix between Wegmans frozen pizza and a poor attempt at homemade soup. I do not feel I got my money's worth. The worst feeling is going out to eat after a hard days work and leave feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. They have to do away with their 'Boards' concept. The pizza came out on a nasty, stained, and greasy piece of wood. I'm sure on paper it sounded rustic and different, but in real-world use it's disgusting and gave the ambiance of a Texas Roadhouse. Although I am not suggesting the boards are unsanitary, the appearance is a turn off. It would be much more classy to serve their meals on an Acopa Nova White Asymmetric Plate. They describe the 'Fire and Smoke' pizza as being brick oven fired with Gouda. Are you sure it wasn't a microwavable pizza? Half the pizza had no drop peppers, and if it had Gouda on it, neither my spouse nor I could taste it. And where is the 'fire'? Three small spots on the pizza gave some sort of indication that maybe it touched a brick oven. Their oven temperature is set too low and they're cooking it too slowly. Are you sure the oven is set between 530 and 800 with 630F being optimal for 90 seconds? Again, don't place the blame on the person making the pizza. The owners should be guiding their employees on how to make the perfect pizza. The pizza would taste amazing with prosciutto and 'slabs' of smoked Gouda instead of 'shredded'.Their menu describes the Onion Soup soup as, "..gratinéed with Swiss and provolone cheeses." What was served was a cold blob of cheese and bread. I never understood how a server can bring cold food to the table and not expect the customer to complain. The soup lacked flavor and texture. The attached picture was taken less than ten seconds after it was served. No steam. This is not 'gratinéed' in any sense of the word.I hope the owners use this review constructively, investigate my thoughts, don't take the easy way out by screaming at employees, and make changes as necessary. The scenic views are great, but word-of-mouth reviews are quite powerful. No amount of scenery can replace the lack of food quality. We won't be coming back to this establishment.

Pros:wine fight optionBeautiful scenario & patioIndoor has a nice vibeCons:It smells absolutely disgusting inside.. like cat pee! All I could smell was the strong odorThe service is okThe wines are absolutely terrible. I like almost all wines & I could not finish my tastingsThe food is somewhat bland and very expensive. For expensive meals, I’d like it to be deliciousI would not come here again.

Had visited here for wine & dine, awesome outdoor seating with vineyard view in distant. Live music, wine & range of pizza varieties, what else you need? Highly recommend it.

Soum M — Google review

We visited on a recent Saturday late afternoon and were a bit surprised by the very limited menu options. We sat at the bar and ordered a charcuterie board.. it was pretty expensive and pretty skimpy. We also ordered wine flights, there were good wine options to choose from. The bartender was very friendly.I guess I was expecting a little more of an experience.

Visited Critz for the first time in years with my family! We got in with no parking issues, no wait lines. Plenty of space to park with a small fee. The pumpkin patch was huge and a great selection. Variety of kids activities to keep them occupied from tractor rides, animals, slides, and more. A great destination for fall activities. The little shop had all sorts of goodies, decent prices. Good food options all around. Will be back next year 😄

Dominic A — Google review

Loved that it wasn't too crowded this year! Bought our tickets ahead and got right in, kids had a blast, the pumpkins were huge, and the lines weren't long! Great day!

Brittany D — Google review

Had a great time. There are lots of interesting farm related things to do. Beer and wine tasting, apple picking, pumpkin picking, cider, and doughnuts. Many activities for the kids. Including petting zoo, haunted house, playgrounds, and various games. Wagon rides are available. The gift shop is well stocked with trinkets and snacks to make your visit memorable. I recommend you check it out. But be aware that some dates will be better than others depending on what activities are going on.

Myron T — Google review

Enjoyed my visit here. Very friendly staff and the beers were delicious. Awesome views.

We have been here so many times over the years. Apple picking, blueberry picking, pumpkin picking, pancakes breakfast, and fall festivals… this is the best Upstate NY life here at the Critz Farm. Kids always enjoy the playground and animals. On 8/12/2023 the sunflower field is open.

J L — Google review

My grandchildren really enjoyed feeding the animals and playing on the play ground. I literally had to remove them kicking and screaming. Even late in October, there were many pumpkins 🎃 to choose from. We were able to purchase apples 🍎, which the kids picked out there own bags. I will visit again to enjoy the wine and beer tasting area. Overall great experience😊.

Dezi D — Google review

I’m astonished, flabbergasted even that there is a hard cider for me out there. I have such a sensitive digestive system, heavy emphasis on sensitive, but the double vision cider is great for me! I’m able to drink it and enjoy myself without feeling unwell. It’s delicious and crisp and light. Critz also has an excellent salsa that I will keep coming back for and I can’t wait to try some of their other drink since the cider worked so well for me.

Kendall J — Google review

Loved the setup, kid friendly, great people, bartenders were awesome, place for the kids to play. The craft drinks were amazing, I highly recommend everyone stopping by if you are in the area!

Cody F — Google review

Always the best experience at Critz. The beer and cider are on point. They have an amazing play area for the kids. Pick your own pumpkins and Christmas trees are a great price. Plus they often have great live music. Great place for the whole family and always friendly staff.

Kelsey L — Google review

Kid friendly place for kids up to about age 12. There’s different hand built wooden play structures slides, and sand box for the kids to play on. We seen goats and and 2 small horses that come to the gate to be pet/fed. Adult drinks available and it’s free to enter. Was quiet and calm vibes besides the kids yelling. Would definitely go again, probably during fall when more is in season.

Kayla K — Google review

Great farm, easy navigation and you have a bit for everyone. The Tap house, two shops, pumpkin picking and rides for the kids and the farm animals were really friendly, well maintained and beautiful. This is a must stop, period.

Stopped in for a cider and beer flight. Nice selection to choose from. They allowed dogs so we were able to stay and enjoy ourselves. The bartender was great.

Food is good. Short staffed but no fault of their own. Serving staff is very friendly and attentive. Wing night on Sunday & Thursday nights, .50 cent wings. 👍🏻

Bar is about dead. Owners seem to like it that way. The guy tending bar there said they wont be doing kickball or volleyball this year because the owner doesnt want to open on tuesdays. I think it just because he cant find good bartenders. The guy that was working when i was there messed up my quick draw ticket then tried to make me pay for it. He also had no idea what an IPA was. lol. Oh yeah he had to take every bill up front to the owner to cash out. I guess they dont trust him with the cash register. It kind of ridiculous when there 5 people cashing out and he takes the bill out 1 at a time took me 30mins to pay my bill.So Sad!! this used to be a nice place to stop on my way home from work.

Good place to get some great food! The sauce is as good as it gets. The waiter was awesome. Really enjoyed this friendly, and inviting atmosphere.

Two Guys From Italy has been a staple of the community for many years. I can't count the number of times I've eaten here, but I can say I've never had a single complaint with the quality of the food, prices, or service. The establishment has a welcoming atmosphere to not just locals but travelers as well. It is one of the few locations that welcomes sportsmen (snowmobiles and atvs). It is located right near the state trail. They make it convenient to stop in for a meal or pick up to-go. I hope this business continues its success for years to come.

Missing something from my order once again that we got charged for! My order just came to door, food is stone cold cant even eat yet. i have to heat oven up and cook all he hot food. Food is soggy and disgusting looking once again. Got a foot long fish sandwhich on a cheesy tiny hamburger bun(really) couldn't use a syb role for the price of everything the food has lost its flavor & the care they use to put in to their restaurant. We are no longer going to be customers

The food was great. fresh toppings on my Philly. super nice service staff. There's a pool table with decent sticks. And great prices. Wings, bacon cheese fries, Philly cheese steak with extra peppers 4 drinks, and $10 tip$50 for two. Only beers. Will definitely go eat here again

Waited an hour for delivery. They never said they were busy. Pizza was only warm but the boneless wings were really good! I called back and she said he should be pulling into my driveway any minute but it was another ten minutes. This place isnt that far from my house!Kind of disappointed.

Best food in area very friendly people it's like a second home they really want you to be happy and to have a great time ....just had my granddaughters bday party there I will definitely going back

Bobbie C — Google review

Ordered a large chicken bacon ranch to pick up, was ready on time and the cashier was very very polite and couldn't thank me enough for my business. First reaction to opening the box was that there didn't seem to be much bacon or ranch and that the pizza looked to be a medium size (from different establishments). The pizza is tasty but just doesn't seem to be as many toppings as I would have hoped for. Will order again, but I will definitely order with extra toppings.

Erik M — Google review

Had an order of the char-grilled wings absolutely amazing. The waitress was very attentive and super friendly. Used to go to Two Guys when I lived in the area. Glad to see that it is still good after being away for many years brought back good memories.

Selkirk Shores State Park

State park

Nature & Parks

Lakeside park with campsites atop a bluff, fishing areas, a mix of multi-use trails & sunset views.

I absolutely loooove hiking at pine Grove ( the trails right in Selkirk Shore) its so beautiful there and there are so many different trails you can hike and explore ! It's so peaceful and it's just so beautiful. You can also see a ton of wildlife! Every time i go i see deer , snakes or some type of animal!. Definitely one of my favorite places to hike

Amanda S — Google review

This is one of my favorite places to go on vacation with my family. We love the cabins with multiple bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. The cabins are a little worn, but very cozy. I love the big table with the benches to make mealtimes special! The frog pond hike is an absolute favorite for my kids. They always see so many frogs! In fact, we have seen lots of amazing wildlife over the years throughout the park, from owls to skunks to raccoons, and so much more! The camp store is open weekends during the off season and makes a fun stop. The rec center has really cute activities for kids with very friendly staff who really connect with the kids.

Heather H — Google review

Beautiful state park with breathtaking views of Ontario Lake. You don’t want to miss the sunsets here- they were some of the best I’ve ever seen. The swimming at the beach was rocky- bring crocs or other water shoes, after about 3 feet into the water it turns sandy. The water isn’t deep at all but it cooled us all off. Lots of places on the beach to sit, and enjoy the view.We stayed at the campground for a couple of days and overall it was good. The only complaint is that the sites are VERY close together, especially in the chipmunk loop. We tent camped while everyone else had a RV, we definitely felt like an outlier lol. We drove around to scope out which sites we would be more comfortable with for next time. Bathroom and showers were great- kept clean.Easy hiking trails, with beautiful scenery is worth trying out! Trails are marked and it was easy to follow the map, also, being bug spray. The staff were wonderful! Shout out to them. The park office has ice and wood you can purchase. The actual camp store in the campground is only open Thursday-Sunday.We know in 2025 they are having major renovations and will be closed but in 2026 we will definitely be back!

Ideal wooded lakeside park with a variety of four-season trails. Enjoyed winter hiking, XC skiing and snowshoeing. Well maintained, with year round events.

Kel W — Google review

This is a super park. We had the best spot, #97! It was large and private and has a trail right behind it to the beach path. The beach area is nice, but there is a pump at the southern edge that runs continuously and mars the serenity of the atmosphere. The water in the swim area had lots of algae floating on it and smelled fishy, so we did not swim. We saw lots of other swimmers, though. We went to the beach for a truly beautiful sunset. The bathrooms were all clean and showers had wonderful pressure with good hot water. The showers are the push button kind, which is annoying, but helps the park save resources. We walked and biked the entire park with ease. There is a handy store in the C loop with snacks and basic camp needs, but is only open Thursday to Sunday. The lake trail is easy and well marked. We did not do any of the other trails as we were here only a couple of days. We love that they had several horseshoe pits throughout the park and we really enjoyed the one closest to our spot. For the size of this park and the number of people here, we were very surprised at how quiet and peaceful it was. 👍🏼👍🏼😁

Great place to camp with the family. Many nice cozy cabins to rent, a good beach view, pleasant nature trails and views, areas to bring campers, a general store and playground. Had a nice time during our stay and likely will stay again in the future.

Christopher ( — Google review

We used to rent a cabin once or twice a season at Selkirk & really enjoyed doing that. Cabins are spacious although beds are typical camp beds. This time we camped with our new travel trailer. We were in Loop "A" (Acorn), site 1. Behind us were woods. Site was a good size; most sites were. On some sites campers could even back trailer into the woods. Grounds are we maintained. Dumpsters & recycle collection areas are conveniently located. The dumping station for the entire park is at the entrance to Acorn loop but is not obtrusive. There are areas in the center of Acorn loop (& probably all loops) for children to play. We chose not to camp anywhere in loop "C" (Chipmunk) because the sites have very little or no shade plus the sites are smaller & closer to your neighbor. However, views of the lake are available in Chipmunk loop. Selkirk has numerous amenities including fantastic trails all throughout the park, a great beach & many nearby areas to kayak. In fact, South Sandy Creek & Deer creek, within 5 miles of Selkirk, are listed among the top 10 places to kayak in NY. These 2 waterways are smooth kayaking & take you 2 - 3 miles out to Lake Ontario. Beautiful scenery & many birds to be admired while paddling. Enjoy!

Dianne N — Google review

Beautiful view of Lake Ontario. The water is so clean and in the summer time you can enjoy it on the beach they have. We didn’t venture through the rest of the park while here but it looked like a great spot for camping and enjoying nature. Worth checking out for sure

Sam C — Google review

We went for the eclipse viewing and had fun.The wooded area with tall trees is nice and the park is on the side of lake ontario, but the nucle@r power plant destroys the beautiful view over the lake.Like the other reviewer said - poor planning for events as the parking lot was filled to capacity, they still had the restrooms closed and had 3 porta potty’s instead that had a constant 30 minute line (except during the eclipse 😊)

Lj L — Google review

We have had camp for several times! Perfect place near the beach! You can find different kinds of activities: hiking, swimming, walking 👌🏼There are nice places for trailer, good barbecue zone etc.

Beautiful park with lots of amenities. We drove down for a quick visit after a work conference. Would definitely go back for a camping trip.

Melanie H — Google review

The campsites have a nice pavement section and are a bit cramped in some loops, but are still very cozy. In the chipmunk loop there is a cute camp store! I got a sweatshirt from here and it is now my favorite!!🫶♥️ they have a nice big beach on the lake with a cement pier to go out to the water that we enjoyed going on. Around there is also several trails for hiking or biking! I would recommend choosing this campground over others in the area! 👍

Emily M — Google review

Beautiful park. The campgrounds actually feel like camping. Lots of wooded areas. Nice beach. Camp store has all the basics.

Jake G — Google review

Gr8 little park with a few amenities to make a fun family day. Beach is only open Thu-Mon meaning no life guard on duty the other days. Covered areas & hibachi grills. Clean. No pets on beach in swim area. Swim shoes are helpful!

Donna S — Google review

What a fantastic find for a hike today. Well worth the 2 hour drive from Rochester. Parked near the beach access parking lot and set out to do a big loop to come back starting on the frog pong trail. Very short trail that led to a pond with a plank boardwalk to walk across. Nice place to sit down and take in nature for a second. From there, we took the 52c trail to the red fox trail to the blue forest trail and then hopped back on the redox trail, which took us up to the salmon River. Walking along there for a bit til we found the entrance for Lakeshore Trail to take us back to the parking area near the beach access lot. I recommend going counterclockwise so you save the best for last. The views along the lakeshore trail over Lake Ontario are stunning. With plenty of access points to the water. There are also campsites available and cottages when in season. A lot of people out there enjoying a beautiful 50-degree day walking. Biking and having their dogs along. Easy in easy out. Most of the trail was relatively flat. Would definitely like to come again in the fall or even the peak of summer.

Michael B — Google review

One thing NY does well is their state parks. I enjoy our yearly, two week stay at the park. Although not in the Adirondacks, it has that isolated feel. They have a general store with a few commonly needed items and across route 3, at the park entrance, The Lakeside restaurant and ice cream stand are convenient and highly rated. Pulaski is near by for groceries, car wash, laundromat, restaurants etc. It offers much with a small town feel. Inside the park, we enjoy the spacious sites and walking trails. Sunsets on the lake never disappoint. There is a walking pier and beach. The beach is often without a lifeguard so swim at your own risk. They try to maintain a sandy beach but it always seems to be under construction as any storm washes out the sand. Entry to the water is a bit treacherous for us tender foots, with the lake rocks typical of Lake Ontario. Hookup utilities are minimal, electric only, so we use water sparingly to avoid a trip to the dump station. The bathhouse are well maintained but a bit rustic. Overall, an enjoyable and convenient park.

Hog R — Google review

Wonderful peaceful park spots for rvs and pretty good fishing . Spend most my free time here later had a few good catches

David G — Google review

This is a review of the cabin accommodations, and a bit about the park. We stayed in cabin site 21.We came as a friend group with 4 families with young children (ages 2-6). We are low-maintenance campers and were very pleased with the cabins. A fridge, small stove, and double-basin sink were very welcome, as were toilet facilities (they provided 3 rolls of TP, but bring a stool for the shorties). Windows had screens and shutters, no curtains. Outlets in each room. Generous wall hooks & hangers in each room. The screened in porch with Adirondack chairs was roomy and a good place to be surrounded by woods while blocking out mosquitoes. Did not use the fireplace, but it looked great. Table and chairs/benches were solid, heavy, and probably milled and assembled on-site 70 years ago, still going strong. The listing says 3 bedrooms, but it’s really two bedrooms, and two twin beds in main living space. One bedroom with a full mattress that was pretty uncomfortable, a dresser, and large shelf. Other bedroom had 2 twin beds with about a foot of space between them and a dresser. (Other friends’ cabins had bunks.) The twin mattresses were more comfortable, but all plastic-coated of course. (Do bring sheets and other linens. If you have the packing space, mattress pads would be a big upgrade.) Gorgeous gigantic oak at the site. Fire pit with a grill, and a separate standing grill. Other key items to bring if you come in July: a fan for the heat, clothesline/pins, trash bags, bug spray, white noise (or ear plugs) if you’re there over Independence Day. Lots of fireworks going off multiple nights! Our brief interactions with the park staff were very nice. Shower facilities were a 7-min walk away, with your typical camp showers, no complaints. Playground was great, just unshaded, so very hot. Camp store has reasonable prices (!), a small sharing library, a craft room for kids for rainy days that was terrific, and firewood for purchase. Frog pond was nice, but we discovered it was too long of a walk for our kiddos from the cabin, had to drive to a closer trail head another day. Saw frogs! On damp days mosquitoes were THICK. So were fireflies every night, magical for the kids.Beach: pebbly, but they had also hauled in sand. It does hurt your feet walking out, but gives way to Sandy bottom further out. Terrific place to find pretty rocks. Water was chilly a couple days, warmer on the hottest days in the afternoon. Nice pier. We hit the beach the night of the Fourth and saw fireworks going off over say 10 different places south of us down the shore. Kids loved it, booms not so loud.We would happily return another year :)

Emily T — Google review

Rating will depend on your site and loop. We had a large site with plenty of room others are less than 20 feet wide. C and D are closest to water(not the beach) playground and store. A has some sites in the woods others jambed together. B has empty field in middle with a lot of good sized sites. Bathrooms are dated but kept very clean 3 to 4 times a day.

Opening day at Behling was phenomenal! Taking my first bite of a peanut covered, ruby red Macintosh carmel apple was the perfect taste of Fall exploding in my mouth. Great place to stop with the kids and pick some apples. There is also a playland area with bounce houses, zombie paintball, zip lines, and the ability to get on a tractor ride to go pick apples. There’s plenty of parking and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I go every year during the seasons and it is awesome. I saw some not so positive reviews. I've never been at the barn I have only gone straight to picking areas down the road. Never had a problem. Those workers have always been helpful and chatty. Nicer than people in general. With that being said I'm going tomorrow to start picking strawberriesNow I drove all the way up there to pickBerries and the gate was closed but it said they were open. I had my granddaughter with me so we went to AppledalesDown the street. Pretty disappointed

Spring: drove up for strawberry picking, and this will probably be our new go to place for strawberries. Berry field is just down the road past the main building for apple picking. It was well worth the 30 minute drive, our containers were easily filled because there were so many ripe berries. Only complaint was the field had a lot of weeds to pick through but again, there were so many ripe berries it really didn't slow us down. I find their prices competitive for any of the you pick places I've been to and the staff are always friendly and helpful.Fall: Great selection of apples for picking. Fun fall activities for the kids, bounce houses and a playground.

The Erie Canal Museum, housed in the sole remaining weighlock building, delves into the impact and history of the canal system. It is an excellent stop for anyone in the area. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about Syracuse and its surroundings, displaying a genuine interest in their visitors' experiences. Admission fees are affordable at around $10 per person but provide access to numerous exhibits including a boat on display inside.

Worth the stop if in the area!! The workers there are so friendly, and gave us some information about Syracuse and the surrounding areas! They actually care about the museum, and care about people who visit from out of town! :) We are from the Buffalo,Ny area so this was a first time visit. The cost to visit is cheap around $10, a person but totally worth it! Plenty of exhibits, and even a boat ⛵ inside!! Wow!! Super neat. Also the gingerbread houses were super cute! :) The gift shop is worth a look as well, and is full of awesome things! We picked up some local salt, soap, postcards and a magnet! Will definitely come back in the future.

Great museum if you are interested in learning about the Erie Canal and life of the people who worked/lived there. I loved all of the history and culture, learning about this mode of transportation while gleaning a little insight on Syracuse NY.

Theresa J — Google review

The museum is very informative but a bit outdated. They have wonderful historical things to read but nowadays I think needs more interactive ness. Maybe this is due to Covid but who knows. They have a small kids section with a space for the young kids to color. This museum is more for older kids above 10 years old. It’s still worth checking out if you are interested in this piece of history of the area.

Marion N — Google review

Great stop along the Freedom trail. Rich history full of heart warming and heartbreaking stories. Interesting antiques! This museum serves as a reminder, no matter how evil the world seems, there's always helpers trying to do good."In 1776, Americans adopted the Declaration of Independence, which stated that "all men are created equal." Yet, in 1860, four million people lived under slavery in the United States. Every year, as many as 1500 of these African Americans, at great risk to themselves, headed north toward freedom on what became known as the underground railroad. In New York State, Syracuse became the 'great central depot' on this Freedom Trail"

Jacob M — Google review

Great museum, very informative with interactive installations. Two floors with a lot of cool pieces upstairs as well as a children's area. The first floor also includes a line boat to walk through. This is also the welcome center and has a small gift shop. Definitely worth the visit.

Free entry museum (donations recommended) with a cute gift shop inside. The first floor is mostly for the canal, the second floor is other localized history. Super neat! There's also a canal boat you can walk through. Restrooms are on the second floor.

This is a wonderful museum with a greatest staff. I went one day about 15 minutes before closing (4pm) then went back today to really tour. Both gentleman who were working were so very kind and inviting. This made my trip to Syracuse worth it!!!You will need a mask but if you don’t have one they will provide. There is so much History here! They have a 15-20 minute video on history before and after construction which is very good. It’s in a large room so not a small cramped area. They have a boat that was used to go down canal that you can walk through and take photos. I also learned that the street (Erie Canal Blvd) is where the canal ran until 1920.The Erie Canal was 363 miles long and ran from Albany to Buffalo. The grand opening was October 26, 1825. They will celebrate 200 years in 2025. Most of the canal no longer exist but along the canal cities have historical markets etc to keep memory going. This museum is the last existing Weighlock station. I think there were originally 83.I really enjoyed everything about this museum and so happy that I went back to enjoy the exhibits etc. I highly recommend that you stop by to visit museum and give yourself at least an hour to tour. They also have a nice little gift shop with plenty of items to chose from; magnets, t-shirts, candy, wooden pencils, coaster, books about Erie Canal for adults and children, and so much more!!It’s free but they would like if you donate $10 to museum. I definitely did do and spent quite a bit in gift shop both days!

This is a hidden gem. It is free (suggested 10 dollar donation). If you are in Syracuse and a history or civil engineering buff, you must come here. Before there was Hoover Dam, there was the Erie Canal.

Arindam P — Google review

This place doesn't excellent job at hosting schools for field trips. They do have on hand learning hunts that are available. However, we made our own escape room hunt for our students. It took them just over 2 hours to do for middle school and they absolutely loved that all the exhibits were hands-on for them. The best part was that they could go on to the barge and they really enjoyed being able to complete the activities at different exhibits. Bringing them back next year.

Amazing exhibit of the transportation method that turned New York State into an empire. The exhibit has some but not many spaces that are interactive for kids.A promise of offering indigenous perspectives, for whom European expansion was a genocide, is promised.

Japheth W — Google review

Highly recommend! It's located in the original weighlock building from when the canal ran through Syracuse. Free entry (recommended $10 donation). I learned a TON about the region's history and the significance of the canal system. They have a couple of canal boats preserved; you can walk through one. There's a small gift shop. I got through in 2 hours while reading everything.

Small but interesting museum to show the history of the Erie Canal as well as how it transformed the economic landscape of this part of NY state. Admission is 10 for adult and 4 for children. If you go there on Sunday, there is free parking just on the road outside. There is also a model barge housed in the historic weighing toll station. The videos are quite educational to explain how the weight station and lock work. The photos will transform you back to the early days of canal construction and operation.

Very educational. Engaging for adults and kids. Worth checking out if you're in town

The Erie Canal Museum proved to be an exceptional venue for our recent Librarian Networking event, accommodating 30 guests with ease. The turnout was fantastic, and attendees thoroughly enjoyed their time exploring this historic gem.Our tour guides were both knowledgeable and friendly, offering insightful commentary that enriched our understanding of the canal's significance. The museum's space itself is a testament to its unique charm, providing a beautiful backdrop for our gathering. One of the highlights of our experience was undoubtedly the professionalism and helpfulness of the museum staff. From the initial planning stages to the execution of the event, they were a pleasure to work with, ensuring everything ran smoothly and efficiently.Overall, the Erie Canal Museum exceeded our expectations as a venue, offering both an enriching experience and excellent service. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to host an event with a touch of history and charm.

Fran D — Google review

A small but very interesting museum. We were just passing through, and decided to check this out. We didn't know anything about the Erie canal prior to our visit. The museum is in an actual weigh-lock that was part of the canal's system of weighing barges to collect tolls. The museum consists of displays detailing the construction of the canal, and its importance, and you can walk through a barge and look at the old office. Upstairs are a few displays of the interiors of period buildings (not as interesting as downstairs). There is also a small gift shop, with a selection of books on the canal.Well worth a visit.

The Landmark Theatre is a historic venue that hosts a diverse range of live musical performances and theatrical productions. The theater boasts an impressive blend of old-world charm and modern amenities, thanks to the restoration of its original architectural style coupled with contemporary light, sound systems, refreshment stands, and bathrooms. Though the seating areas are narrower than usual stadium-style setups, patrons get to enjoy a climate-controlled environment while experiencing a classic vintage theater vibe.

This is a beautiful theater with old world charm and modern day comfort and technology. The original architectural style and design are fully restored but there are modern light, sound systems, refreshment stands, and bathrooms. The seating areas are more narrow than what we are typically used to and is the old style stadium seating style. Nevertheless, this is climate controlled and modern theater experience.

Beautiful theatre. Went there for a event and the ability to preserve such a historical landmark is awesome. Everywhere you look there is something new to see. Defiantly worth the trip to visit! Only issue worth mentioning is that Syracuse as a city is not too good where the hotel is located. I’ve walked around the city of Buffalo and Rochester and have never been confronted by as many people asking for money as I had been outside of this hotel. Do not walk here from nearby hotels alone or in a small group.Event photographed: NY Brewers Association Craft Beer Festival.

It is always a pleasure to see a show at the Landmark, Syracuse, N.Y. You feel immersed in such Rich History and beauty. Keep The Great Entertainment coming to this Downtown Gem !!!

Brenda S — Google review

We drove up from PA to see Marcus King. Wow what a beautiful theater! It looked like we were in a little palace. We had seats in the Loge section. I went back and forth between loge and balcony when selecting seats and I’m glad I chose the loge. The balcony wasn’t too far separated and it really is a small theater so I don’t think there would be any bad seats. I’m sure the sound would have been a bit better if we were more in the center versus the side but overall the sound was good.Marcus King really showcased the whole band and gave an outstanding performance. The women’s restrooms were clean and the line moved fast. Beer, wine, co*cktails, other drinks and snacks were available on all floors. That line didn’t move as fast as the bathroom but the bartenders were all very upbeat and they were moving quick. We parked at the Trolley lot. That was around $9 if I remember correctly. The walk from there to the venue was a couple blocks. There was a big event at Clinton Square this day so several streets were closed and most of the street parking was full. It probably would be easier to find a spot in the street (free after 6p I believe) on a normal day.

Miss V — Google review

Great theater, extremely friendly staff which added to the experience! The entire place, as you can see, is decorated with lavish and artful adornments. It can be a little packed during a crowded show like Hamilton, but the staff again handled everyone well. Drinks were not too high priced.Would definitely visit again!

Lee D — Google review

I really enjoyed one of the Broadway musical. Hope to have more opportunity for cultural experience. And the theater itself is one of the must-see sights in Syracuse. The architecture is amazing.

Went to see A Nutcracker with a Twist and it was excellent!! Excellent production they did an outstanding job. If you haven't been to this before I would strongly recommend you attend this show you will not be disappointed! Standing ovation was given at the end of the show!!😃

Bradley G — Google review

The Landmark has always been a wonderful place for the people of Syracuse to gather for a live performance. The art deco woodwork and architecture is exquisitely opulent example of plush grandeur of the Roaring Twenties. I can say with pride that I saw my first ever concert here, which was Alice In Chains in 2014. I have also seen Bob Weir & the Wolf Bros here as well as Marcus King earlier this month on June 8th, 2024. It all came full circle at the Marcus King show, where I experienced my first VIP access package. It was really remarkable to meet Marcus and spend a few moments chatting with him. The Landmark Theatre has always been a Syracuse Landmark and always will be.

Wow! Such a beautiful classic vintage theater. We had an amazing time. Definitely coming back here for sure. Great atmosphere as well.

Stephani M — Google review

Great show! I saw Anastasia on Broadway, and it was amazing! Beautiful building and architecture! The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that everything is OVERPRICED!!!!!! The least expensive thing there was a cookie for $3.00 and a water bottle is $4.00 candy is also $4.00 They serve alcohol too, but I did not pay attention to those prices because I don't drink alcohol. (It was at least $6 for a bottle of beer)

Alexus R — Google review

Fair venue, very cramped, yet that's expected for a theater crammed into city buildings. Accommodations are made for most populations. If you are 6 ft and over 200 lb (standard Amer male nowadays) you will be cramped. The seats are very narrow, Aisles are very tight, especially the higher you go. Good acoustics and relatively clean. Parking is a bit dodgy, but that's expected in the city of 'cuse. There are payable parking lots in the local area for use.

Kurt P — Google review

I always love the landmark theater. It’s an amazing historic building. Even if you don’t go up to see a show here I would recommend stopping by if it’s open to see the inside and the amazing decor and wall painting and detail I saw Aladdin the other day, and the show was amazing; the security and staff are always decent, especially the volunteer ushers. The two older ladies at the box office, they could maybe use a little extra customer service training, however.

Stefania I — Google review

Beautiful older theater! Great place for entertainment and shows! The only down side is the seats are close, but that just makes you closer to your seat buddies for shows!! The balcony is nice to it comes half way across the orchestra seating! It’s one of the bigger balcony’s I have seen. The stairs were just beautiful to look at which is why I took pictures of the stairway leading up to the balcony in case you were curious. The sound was great throughout the whole theater!! Plus, if you are wheelchair bound I would recommend floor seats In the orchestra area. The balcony doesn’t have an elevator to get you up there due to the age of the theater. Remember this place was built long before I was born. 🎭

Ariel — Google review

Gorgeous historic theater. Surprisingly comfortable seats, even in the nose bleeds.Insanely ornate, and something to look at for hours without getting bored.Due to all the filigree and age, can seem dark and a little dirty, but that is only the age. Great sound and lighting.

Lily C — Google review

I absolutely love this theater. I wish I could attend more events. The seats are a little tight so if you have a special need you may want to research the location of your seat.

Amy L — Google review

I just saw Six: The Musical here and I already can’t wait to go back and see another show! It’s a classic ornate theatre that brings in many performers and shows for reasonable prices. Parking (I parked on the street, but there are lots and parking garages nearby) and getting into the venue were easy and fairly quick. I sat in the front row of the mezzanine (the picture is a view of the stage from my seat) which had a great view. Definitely recommend!

Hannah M — Google review

I only give this theatre 2 Stars because of the parking issue while attending STARPOWER Dance Competition. My daughter was in 7 Dances, and with having a HUGE costume bag, dance backpacks, and a cosmetic trolly it was extremely difficult to walk 2 blocks with all of that baggage in the rain. Then we got out late on Friday night and our car was locked in the garage. The stress level that caused the dancers was unnecessary. The Dance comp was a success but the stress level of parking was REAL!

Lisa C — Google review

The concert was awesome! The bathrooms were clean and drinks were reasonably priced, so all in all, we couldn't have asked for a better time. Bush was great, and the bands leading up to them were entertaining.

Joshua R — Google review

Love this theater! It’s large enough for grand performances but small enough to feel intimate. I have attended several of the Broadway productions, children’s shows and the Nutcracker a few times. Always a great experience! My only suggestion is eat before you go. The snacks are very limited to candy.

Jenn T — Google review

Went to see Lindsay Sterling. She was an excellent performer! High energy, violin, dancing & singing and played her version of all Christmas songs. She's incredible ! Theater is beautiful as always!

Mary M — Google review

We went and saw Hades Town here. I have seen many fantastic concert performances here including Bruce Springsteen, Jason Isbell and the Cranberries. It's a beautiful venue. Go there.

Seed S — Google review

I recently seen Bush here & they 🎸 rocked the house!! The opening bands were excellent too!! Eva Under Fire 🔥 & Bad Wolves!!Gabin Rossdale is an amazing performer & person. He ran down the isle, I wanted him to high five me, but he whipped by so quickly I touched his arm!!! That was good enough for me!! And I may add happily that man has some smooth skin!!I was so impressed with the inside of this theater. What a beautiful layout. Very intricate with the gold & wood work throughout it.I would definitely come here again.Bartenders were on their game severing up the place. We ended up with Rockstar parking, not too shabby!! 😉The whole experience was AMAZING!!

Destiny USA is a sprawling indoor complex that offers a plethora of shopping and dining options, as well as entertainment and Wi-Fi. The mall features numerous stores, an arcade with games, and even an indoor amusem*nt park. Although some visitors have complained about small seating in the food court and bathroom door locks not functioning properly, many still recommend making it a day trip to fully experience all the amenities that Destiny USA has to offer.

Boy did we have fun! Biggest mall I was ever in. Restaurants were great and variety of stores was amazing! We were only able stay a short time, but we will be back for a Christmas shopping excursion. It's a 2 hour drive for us but we both felt it will be well worth it.

George P — Google review

Huge mall with lots of stores. Easy to get lost in. Eatery was nice, but seats were not too comfortable.Tried to eat at TGIF but got turned away due to us having a large group (7)

Janell G — Google review

Great mall with a bit of everything for everyone. From great eats to hobby stores, they got it all. Even got plenty of fun interactive things for kids to do. There are so many restaurants that are dine in and amazing.

Thanh S — Google review

Had a great experience, so many options at the food court, many activities for kids. Got everything under one roof. Superb layout with its own unique touch. Roaming around was fun eventhough could not get into all the stores. Not so crowded even on the weekends because of the huge space it possess.

Zaheen N — Google review

It is a very large Mall. Quite a variety of stores inside which is awesome! Good choices for restaurants as well. And seems to have plenty of parking. Also has fun things for kids to do such as ropes climbing, huge playground slide, WonderWorks, RPM raceway and so much more. Overall a good place to visit.

E B — Google review

This is huge but no high end stores (Prada, Gucci, etc). There was an Apple store, Burlington, Dick’s Sporting Good’s etc. There is also a movie theater on the 3rd floor. It seems that they haven’t remodeled walkways but some the stores are very nice. They have a decent food court with Steakhouse and a Grill. There is a merry go round and laxer tag etc. Not much to do in Syracuse so if you like shopping then this is the place to be.

Dr. R — Google review

Huge mall, tons to see and do. It's definitely a place to bring your kids and burn energy. Plus, as you enter you can take pictures by the I heart New York sign, I would recommend

Pedro D — Google review

Destiny USA in Syracuse is an impressive destination with a lot to offer. The sheer variety of stores, from high-end retailers to outlet shops, provides something for nearly every shopper. The entertainment options, such as go-kart racing and the comedy club, add a fun dimension that sets it apart from typical malls. Dining choices are plentiful and diverse, ranging from quick bites to full-service restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory. However, its massive size can be overwhelming and might require some planning to navigate effectively.

Raed — Google review

This place is huge and has so much to do and so many places to shop. There's food, games in the arcade, and lots of stores. There was what they called an indoor amusem*nt park as well. Can't wait to go back. I gave a four because the bathroom doors didn't lock in the ladies room and the food court seating is extremely small and hard for bigger people to fit in. If you're going to visit this place for more than a quick stop and shop I recommend making it a day trip so you have time to experience everything this place has to offer.

My L — Google review

The Mall is not as crowded and exciting as it used to be. It’s always a pleasure shopping over there though. People are awesome!

Cheikh N — Google review

Use to be a fun place to go as a kid. Now I pass by it most days not giving it a second thought. For its size and amount of stores I feel like I only visit the same small handful. Recently the mall has had multiple instances of violence including firearms and while they have increased the security it takes away from the family friendly atmosphere it use to have.

John — Google review

Huge mall...with a great variety of stores. First time I've been in years, I did all my sons school clothes and found lots of extra goodies for myself. Grabbed lunch and checked out the RC race track!

Kayla L — Google review

My biggest issue is that the mall is not very handicapped friendly in the sense that the most convenient handicap accessible entrance by The Cheesecake Factory has one handicap spot meanwhile the farthest entrance across the road has 20 and there are also constant problems with the escalators and elevators not working. I parked in one of the Cheesecake Factory parking spots because that's where I was eating and I also had my handicap sign in the window and they still towed me..$300 later and I am not a happy camper eith how they handle the disabled.

This is one of the biggest mall I have visited in upstate New York.If you are around an hour or 2 drive away then you should definitely visit. It opens at 10 in the morning to night 9pmIt has everything you can ask for from retail shops to one in all shops like Macy's, Nordstrom's, Burlington, TJ max,It has variety of food courts, boboa teas to coffee shops to dessert shops to restaurants like PF Chang's, Panera bread, cheesecake factory, they also have lot of entertainment for kids , like jungle gym, glow golf, 4D Max theater. And the also have FACTORY OUTLET STORES of Michal kors, Coach, Aeropostale,Various shoe stores DSW extra. You can check the stores on there website or app.1 day is not enough for going Around the mallBut its awesome. Do visit

Humaira V — Google review

I am visiting from Canada and we chose this mall as it is closest to my city. I've been to this mall on multiple locations throughout various years and I've never been disappointed. It has a good mix of high-end shops like Kate Spade, Coach, etc to others like Five Below and Burlington. The same can be said about their food with the mix of food court regulars to others like Cheesecake Factory and Margaritaville. I really went on 2 floors plus the 2 shops on the base level and I was there from about 1030 til 4 with a break for food at the food court.

Some of our personal favorites were the ropes course and the science experience. You can see I posted some of the photos of the science experience. It was a great stop to break up the trip on our way to the Adirondacks from Buffalo, New York. Perfect for all ages.

I really like this mall! It’s big, clean, and has lots to do for all ages. My grandkids love going there because there are so many things to do that they love! They have a very cool antique carousel and car racing to name a few.

John E — Google review

Largest mall Ive ever been to and good to see there are still some surviving malls out there. 4+ floors, not bombed out like most malls, busy, a ton of stores and entertainment.Clean, not ghetto, and absolutely worth a visit!

Joel B — Google review

We drive 1 hour and 1/2 to visit Destiny USA, our kids love this place specially food games.

Jotiyar T — Google review

For a mall of its size, the lack of people here was very surprising, especially on a Friday evening. We have been to the large malls in CT, MA, and NH recently and they all had significantly more foot traffic and more interesting stores, even though they are maybe only 50%-60% the square footage of Destiny USA. I don't know the background behind the 18+ policy so maybe it's helped with safety and shoplifting, but it also seems to be killing the foot traffic.

Bob R — Google review

The businesses here are all gouged for rent and trying their best. Like the rest of the heart of America, there’s little focus on maintenance or infrastructure of the building itself and the functionality of the facility suffers greatly. The seats in the food court are latticed metal, splintering apart and hardly clean, for sure a flawed design, and they are from the 1990’s. They are the same kind found in Great Northern and Shoppingtown, which have both shut down and have left their half as used seats if Destiny ever wants to repurpose those (please?). Either way I’m always fearing puncturing a hole in myself, my clothes, staining my clothes or picking up some sort of nested vermin from them. The dust and dirty windows, the broken elevators and half functioning escalators. Here’s a friend I legit made today near the food court.

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is a 43-acre zoo that houses various animals, including elephants and penguins. Visitors can explore the wildlife trail and aviary as they observe the beautiful creatures within their habitats. The zoo offers affordable admission prices for adults, with reduced prices during the months of January and February. Guests can witness captivating exhibits such as the Asian elephant exhibit, featuring active elephants that enjoy playing with toys and tires.

Love the RG Zoo! Nice layout and reduced prices when you visit in January or February. All the animals are gorgeous and look well looked after. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Michele R — Google review

We LOVE the zoo, especially the penguin exhibit. It’s so peaceful to just sit and watch them swim around! The new Jr. Vet Clinic is really cool, too! It’s inside so it was nice to get a break from the heat for a few minutes while the kids explored all the fun vet toys.If you’re going to go more than once in a year, you should get a membership. It’s definitely worth the price!

Christy K — Google review

Very surprised at the variety of animals they had.To have elephants, leopards, camels, wolves, eagles, penguins, monkeys and many more in the middle of the city is very impressive. The size of the zoo isn’t huge, but I liked it because it keeps it interesting and you’re not spending half your time trying to reach the next attraction. It took us about 1-2 hours to see everything. The admission is very reasonable ($9 adults, $5 kids), and parking is free. The kids and adults will love it.

Rawad E — Google review

For me and my son to get in, cost less than $20. It's a nice place to take the family. However, you can't feed or pet the animals, so if that's what you're going for, forget it. Some of the animals, we couldn't even see because of the location. They do have a place to order lunch. Food wasn't too bad, but we went on a holiday and it was super busy, so the wait was long. The prices are a little high. They also have a gift shop as well. Prices are as you would expect at any gift shop though.

Jillian C — Google review

Absolutely love this zoo. Great pricing, well kept, staff care about the animals, the exhibits are laid out well for viewing and for animals to be safe and happy in their "true" environment. Multiple viewing areas for most animals. Different things always planned throughout the day such as the elephant walks and primate talks. Definitely recommend. Fun for all ages!

Bethany S — Google review

The best zoo in the state of New York. It was so clean and pleasant to walk through. And it doesn't smell like every animal took a dumb. Staff does incredible job keeping the place extremely clean. Because they care about there job.

Eduardo H — Google review

Many exhibits are closed, all birds- weren't open to public. For $5.00/person it was good. It would be nice if there were elevated viewing for the toddlers. Pengins were Inside, in a dark area so the toddlers couldn't see well. No monkeys, no tigers...we had out of town guests so it was disappointing. Being outside on a nice spring day with a chilly wind was a good thing.

Cindy K — Google review

My company had a managers meeting at the zoo's large conference room. Tables were setup with white table clothes and we had a make your own lunch buffet during our meeting. At the end of our meeting a zookeeper introduced us to Muppet the porcupine. Very cool 😎. After the meeting we all got tickets to enter the zoo and walk around and see the exhibits. It was a fun and beautiful walk around to see all the different animals.

Buster B — Google review

First time visiting the zoo, and it exceeded my expectations! I was pleasantly surprised by the number of families bringing their children along. This zoo is definitely kid-friendly. Personally, I enjoyed seeing the elephants, especially the twins that were born in October 2022. My favorite was the red panda.Overall, everything was great. However, I believe the cafeteria could improve by offering more snacks such as churros, cotton candy, and ice cream.Parking was convenient, and the entrance fee was reasonable.

J J — Google review

Great zoo! Fun for the whole family! There were buildings and shaded areas to rest out of the sun. Plenty of seating along the paths and various views to each enclosure. We weren't able to see the red wolves, amur tiger, or snow leopard and there were some animals we were only able to glimpse. But we had fun regardless.

Alyssa F — Google review

This Zoo is fine, very organized and clean. The animals looked save. The tigers and elephants are very beautiful. But I don't seen lions it's the shame. In overall there is a lot a interest species. In other side, I seen a lot a kids get funn in this Zoo, it is glad to see that.

Miguel A — Google review

Very nice and small zoo. Although its small and does not have an extreme amount of animals it does have some cool enclosures where you can get a close up look of the animals! I especially like the elephant enclosure where we were very close to the elephants. They apparently have twin elephants too!

Daniel B — Google review

I went as part of a conference. We had the zoo all to ourselves and was provided a clambake dinner that was made by an all female chef crew! The staff we kind and helpful. It's a nice zoo on the smaller side so it's not an all day affair. I don't live locally to Syracuse, but if I did I would definitely buy a seasons pass. It's nice and relaxing just to walk around and enjoy. They also offer a 5 course themed dinner once a month. I would go back to experience that.

What a nice mid sized zoo, very affordable at 9$ for adults. The Asian elephant exhibit is the best that I've seen, with active kind elephants craving your attention and a young female who loves to play with tires and toys. I experienced many beautiful moments today, with their tiger, octopus and bear. <3 Thank you guys!

Always a nice experience. The facility is kept immaculately. Animals are all in good condition. Many were pretty sleep this round so we didn't get to see several of the animals but that gives us a reason to go back!

I might be a little biased since I started volunteering at the zoo roughly a yr ago now, but I love how much they have done over the yrs. One thing I love is the education department has really done great at bringing interactive information to all ages. I've even gone to some of the programs both as a parent and as a participant for the adult zoo programs. Today was a perfect day as the weather was perfect and lots of animals were out and about. Love seeing how much our zoo cares for not just the animals but also teaching the importance of conservation for these and many other animals around the world.

Also, known as The Syracuse Zoo, is a hidden gem in Central New York. The exhibits are beautifully created and maintained to recreate the natural habitat of their animals.Everything from Elephants, Tigers, Monkeys, Koalas, Bears to various reptiles, the Aviary, even an octopus in their aquarium building delight the heart of everyone.Stop by their Website for information including feeding schedules and special events! I ADORE this Zoo!!!Less than an hour from most Finger Lake locations makes the zoo a must do on every itinerary. Being centrally located in New York it is the perfect day trip, as well. Conveniently located off 81, and in the heart of Syracuse, NY, your day at the zoo can be finished off by dinner in Little Italy or one of the other amazing restaurants located near by!

Love visiting this zoo. Many different animals to see. They are always making improvements here. We actually visited on a very busy day with lots of other patrons. It was our first time visiting on their annual Asian Elephant Extravaganza Day. The big bonus was seeing the new twin male elephant calves. We also were able to feed the ducks and Koi fish.

Spent the day with our granddaughter and had a great time! She showed us all of her favorite animals and things to see, as she's been here a few times. I was amazed by the space of some of the exhibits and the landscaping is beautiful. Not to mention the great views of around Syracuse and the admission prices are pretty fair considering all there is to see...highly recommend!

What a great little zoo! Clean, very well maintained, loved how geared it was towards kids' interactions with the environments. It's a small zoo, but it feels big! The grounds are beautiful. Loved the penguins and ducks. I didn't take many photos because we were too busy running around. Clean, accessible bathrooms and a nice cafe accompany the zoo. We didn't get to see their tiger because she'd just had babies!

Lorna D — Google review

This zoo is fantastic! We saw so many animals we’ve never seen or even knew excited. Well priced and not too crowded for a Tuesday. Very well kept grounds with beautiful spaces for animals. The staff was friendly and helpful, ample parking and bathrooms with water fountains. The shop was great and so was the coffee shop, the only bummer is that they ran out of iced coffee. Lovely zoo!!!!

Joan L — Google review

This was one of the coolest zoos I have been to. When we went they had a dragon 🐉 all through out the park. Not sure if those will be temporary but they were cool to look at and hearing my son say wow look at that one it's big was priceless

Justine M — Google review

A simple basic zoo that is good to go to when you want to just relax for the day. I do wish they had a petting area for the goats, and more birds in the inside area. Prices to get in are decent but be prepared for the high food prices and being forced to use a kiosk (no cash).

Karla K — Google review

Some of the enclosures seem kind of cruel, but the zoo itself is nice. Definitely great for kids, but I wouldn’t give them your money otherwise. It’s zoos like this one that need to be shutdown! Their tiger enclosure was super small and there was nothing in the enclosure for the tigers other than trees. They also had the tigers separated. Also, they had about 10 flamingos in a super tiny room. There was almost no room for them to move around. As I said, great for families and kids, but you should avoid funding this place if you can.

Rachel S — Google review

Great for a couple hours afternoon outing! Small and quaint with so many animals to explore! We love all of them but the elephants are definitely our favorite! Had a great time with our 13 year old daughter.

Ashley S — Google review

This zoo was affordable to enter and had a great selection of exhibits. The animals appeared healthy and lively. The whole place was clean and looked very beautiful. I didn't have time to see the aquarium, but I very much enjoyed my time here and plan on coming back in the spring.

Victoria O — Google review

Fanatic zoo, and the perfect size for a family with small children! We're about to go on our 3rd year of being members. My oldest is 2.5, and he has a blast every time he goes. Sometimes, on rainy days, we go for an hour just for the inside exhibits. We also love their events, like trick or treating at the zoo and breakfast with the Easter Bunny.

John K — Google review

Had a great time walking around and seeing the animals. Only a few enclosures were closed so we got to see most of the animals. My one complaint is that there are no gluten free options if you want to eat there. All but one of the food places were closed even though it was the weekend so perhaps one of those places had gluten free options.

MadQueenAlys — Google review

One of the better zoos I have visited in the country. They take care of the animals, they have nice and large enclosures and are clean. We always come here when visiting family as veterans/military and Thier families get free admission.

Kimberly K — Google review

I love this zoo! Great size, good mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits, and lots of active animals. I have a membership and it’s for sure worth it. The weekends can be busy with kids but if you go close to closing time then you can avoid most of the gremlins.

Dominic C — Google review

Older zoo and facilities. It was nice but in dire need of updates and animals.(wasn’t a lot visible or exhibit was closed) The price of admission is appropriate for the experience. The indoor experiences can get crowded/comfy.

Justin W — Google review

The family and I went there for the first time this weekend, and we loved it. The ticket prices were not bad. The kids loved all the animals, and so did my wife and I

Dave J — Google review

I recently visited a really nice zoo that exceeded my expectations. The variety of animals was impressive, with species from all over the world. The sloths, in particular, were amazing and definitely a highlight of the trip. The enclosures were well-maintained, and the animals seemed healthy and well-cared for. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, perfect for families and animal lovers alike.

Irina — Google review

Overall decent. We had fun. Octopus was off exhibit. But, the elephants were out and playing with the babies!

Jon R — Google review

This was a lovely way to while away a few hours on a grey but temperate Saturday. There were a fair number of visitors but no lines or crowds. Admission is already pretty reasonable but also is reduced in January and February, so a regular adult ticket is just $5. The animals for the most part seemed to have decent space and enrichment, although the fennec fox in particular looked distressed and confined. The elephants have a good size space though they were all inside the pavilion when we visited. The loop path is a nice walk and accessible for mobility aids. There were a lot of benches along the way for resting as needed. The cafe is adequate for a quick snack, and the gift shop had a great selection of stuffed animals matching the animals at the zoo.

Hannah O — Google review

I was very impressed with the amount of animals that were available to see! There wasn't a ton of walking but still a reasonable size. The gift shop was also very affordable which I wasn't expecting. There were several different types of exhibits throughout the zoo. Overall I was very impressed! Will definitely be returning!Ticketing prices were also extremely affordable ($9 for adults and children 2 and under free) however unavailable to purchase ahead of time online.

Onondaga Lake Park is a picturesque 7.5-mile linear greenway located on the shores of Onondaga Lake, just west of Syracuse. It offers a wide range of activities including boating, archery, fishing, ball fields, and hiking. The park also features a skate park, dog park, rowing facilities, volleyball courts, shaded picnic areas and a fishing pier.

I always enjoy the parkway. Clean restrooms, lots of benches, wonderful safe playground for my grandchildren, well maintained paths for walking, biking, roller skating, great picnic areas. Just an all around awesome destination if your just visiting or live in central New York. Lots of ducks, eagles, cranes and seagulls to entertain you as you sit peacefully at the lakeside.

A hidden treasure of Liverpool, NY beautiful lake views nd fresh air all year long. Separate pedestrian and wheeled: skates, boards, bikes trails are provided. This is a great place to get your steps in and a sense of community.

A great place to visit. People from everywhere doing anything under the sun. Play grounds, sports, resturants and a great place to walk, run, or just get out and be social!

Wonderful Lake Park in Liverpool, NY.Went on few strolls in evening time. Not too busy, lot of walking space alongside people on bikes too. Great views and vistas of Lake Onondaga, particularly beside Yacht Club too.Few vending machines on route too for drinks, and play area on South end of park. Did not walk full length of park but hope to do so in future wheb back in area.

Anirudh K — Google review

Nice park, open views of the lake and shoreline access. Wegmans play spot is great for the kids to let some energy out! Good spot to watch the eclipse of 2024!

Jordan M — Google review

Lovely park offering some great views of the lake. Large parking lot with tons of spaces. There may be an entrance fee during the peak season ($8 or so) but there was no fee when I visited there in late September. I noticed some people fishing there, but I am not sure of the permit requirements. There is a large ane well-kept children play area there as well. The park also features a skate park, shuffleboard court, bocce ball court and volleyball court. If you walk further north along the lakeside, there is a marina there. Lots of trails and paths for walking, jogging, running or biking. You can also rent bikes, skates and quad-bikes there as well. I would love to return when the leaves change colors later on in the fall...

Jason P — Google review

Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Great playground, lots of shade, walking/biking lanes, plenty of parking, and of course the lake itself. You can visit the free salt museum, or take a ride on an 8-person bike! They also have great bathrooms. We stopped here on a road trip from Albany to Buffalo and we're so happy we did.

Petra H — Google review

a great park on the lake, close by you can see the EAGLES nesting and flying about.. beware of the low bridge traffic, and visit Heids across the road for great hotdogs and philly steaks..

My favorite place for a 10k run. Always hustling bustling with runners and people in general. However, it’s always wonderful with the vibe around this place.

Nabin L — Google review

Stopped by on a warm, clear, sunny August late afternoon. The playground was hopping, people were strolling along the well-maintained paved paths and sitting along the lakefront. There was plenty of easy parking and it was easy to find solitude once in the park.Really enjoyed the ice cream stand near the entrance. You know me: had to try it. The hot fudge is first-rate and they have sprinkles of every flavor imaginable.I understand that the lake has been cleaned up quite a bit over the past couple of decades. You wouldn't know that the area had ever been polluted today. Very nice spot.

Mike A — Google review

What a wonderful spot with kind people. Needed a place for a picnic lunch on our journey back to Canada when we were accidentally trapped by construction at the boat club. The kindness we were offered; to use the screen porch... It was wonderful! Meeting the nice gentleman there was the best part of our day. Thank you!

Mandy K — Google review

Great place to walk, run, bike, roller blade, or sit around on the bench! This is a carry on carry out park. There aren’t many trash places, so if you have a dog, make sure you’re prepared to carry the bag for a bit. It’s nice and scenic. I love to come here with family and the doggo.

Lexy M — Google review

Good park with a decent amount of parking, but beware - the grass is booby-trapped with dog/geese poop and the water is far from clean.

Oleg V — Google review

Great place to walk, jog, run, bike, and even bring your dogs with you. They have a specific lane for people with their pet, and I thought that was neat. We went here during sunset and didn’t leave until it was dark because we got carried away with the beautiful scenery. It was also a full moon the evening we were there. If you have kids, they have a wonderful playground for them as well. I recommend this place to unwind after a long day.

Cha J — Google review

This was such a lovely park to visit. It's near a stretch of busy highway, but I couldn't hear any noise from the traffic at the spot we picked. There were convenient picnic tables in the shade right along the lake, and it had a gorgeous view. There was also a bike path that ran through the park, and plenty of parking spaces. I would definitely come back to this area again!

Em W — Google review

Onondaga Lake Park is a gem in Syracuse. There's activities and areas for all ages and interests. There's a playground for kids. A skatepark. A dog park. Kayaks and bikes can be rented for those without equipment, even unique bike-carts for a different experience. There's docks if you prefer to bring your own boat. Plenty of places to fish (though there are limits on what's safe to consume). The trail almost completely loops the lake, and is completely paved making it an excellent place to bike and skate. Some of the best views of Syracuse can be seen from the West Lake Trail, which is one of the best birdwatching sites in the region, as the lake is an important migratory stop for many different species of birds. No matter what your interest is, it's hard to have a bad day at Onondaga Lake Park.

Corinne C — Google review

My favorite park! Great for walking, rollerblading, biking and all things outdoors. The Wegmans playground is awesome, love that it has the soft scape surface instead of woodchips. I love that you can easily walk 5+ miles along the lake and it's dog friendly. Just make sure to not have dogs on the cycling path!! The benches are nice along the path as well.

Kids shoot down waterslides & zip lines & race go-karts at this fun park with toddler attractions.

We had a wonderful day. I took my 4 year old niece and she enjoyed every second. There's 2 slides into the kiddie pool and my niece was even able to go down some of the larger slides with me. The new owners have renovated and are continuing to improve the facility. We'll definitely be back. All of the staff were attentive and very friendly.

Jane R — Google review

Reminds me of the water parks from my youth 40 years ago. In almost every way... So go for the nostalgia and the slides that would never get approved today. Skip it if you want more modern amenities or updates.

Dylan M — Google review

Celebrated my daughter 8th birthday here today. It was fantastic! Communication was outstanding setting up the party, even with us playing phone tag a few times. When we got there they already knew we were coming at the front desk, had 2 tables with table cloths and a happy birthday sign under a tent reserved for us. All of the staff was extremely friendly. Pricing was great for a birthday package!

Lisa H — Google review

Prices are OK for a small family of 2-4 people. You spend more time waiting in line than on the slides, but they are close, so you can go to another slide that has fewer people until the line gets smaller. Good for kids 3 (walking)-17. Go Karts are fun, $7 per person for 12 laps, not bad. Food is OK and reasonably priced. A few more canapés for the tables would be amazing just for more options. Lifeguards are very polite and helpful. Walkways are hot hot so don't forget some water shoes for the kids! Water is clear, and the lazy river is a decent size. I'm pretty sure it's $24 for the water slides, $27 for the water slides, and unlimited putt putt. Also, it might be a deal that includes the zip line, and a game of laser tag OR Go Karts. Not sure of that price. Kids had a great time though on a warm day! 👍👍👍

George S — Google review

Stellar service, wonderful staff. We just went mini golfing and it was super fun!

Ryan Z — Google review

This past Wednesday was the first time I have been to Thunder Island in about 18 years. I love the size of the park, the location of the park, and all the things the kids can do here. The park offers mainly water attractions, however they have mini golf, bumper cars, an inside small gift/candy shoppe, and some sort of zip line ride which was very fun.The kiddie pool water slides were AWESOME! And the pool area for them is great. The only real downfalls for me were the Bees, and the concrete ground which is TERRIBLE on the feet. My feet were so raw and tender from walking barefoot. I will have to bring water shoes the next time I come.Although I liked the lazy river, I wish it was larger. We had a few traffic jams on Wednesday. 🤣

Brittany H — Google review

Very small park, but rides were fun. Place needs a little bit of updating though as most parts of the park felt very outdated, and some areas definitely need a little bit of maintenance (mainly mini golf course and golf kart track as it was completely closed)

Anthony M — Google review

We wanted to bring the kids somewhere fun and not drive a couple hours and we had heard this place is under new management now so we thought we’d give it a try. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. There are several large water slides and lazy river to enjoy and our 3 year old had a blast on the little kids water slides and splash pool. The go karts we’re pretty awesome, especially for the price and the giant zip line is unique and exciting. There were little to no lines anywhere! Though our family didn’t do it, the other families seemed to enjoy the miniature golf course that is also included with admission. The concession stand was good, but they also offer the option to bring in your own food and drinks, which was well-appreciated. I hadn’t been here in some years and I could quickly see many improvements and upgrades. You can tell the new management is working hard to enhance the experience at this place. We all had a great day without breaking the bank and it’s just down the road from B-villle. If you’re looking for a large busy amusem*nt park then you should drive down the thruway because this isn’t that type of place. If you’re looking for some water park fun and go-karts, without the crowds and extras to spend money on, then Thunder Island is the place.

Chad G — Google review

Friendly staff, Season pass is a great value, the food was quickly made and typical of a concession style environment. The only thing to be aware of if this is your first time... The park is definitely in need of some repairs/upkeep. However, my understanding is this place is in the process of this and has made it public they are doing so in phases.Overall, A good day trip away from home without the long drive to a larger park, just to cool off, have a little fun in the sun.

Zone M — Google review

I had so much fun here. Staff and the lifeguards are respectful, polite, and know how to do their job. Water park has a good variety of slides and pools for all types of people of all ages. They have go cart racing, a game room, and they even offer food and drinks and picnic areas to eat. This place is good for families who want to have a good time and don't want to drive far. Definitely recommed.

RG — Google review

Went here for my wife's retirement party. Large facility but lacking in atmosphere. Appetizers of frozen meatballs and chicken cheese dip not great. Roast beef ok Ham was good. Bar lacking in any types of booze. So not a great experience

Michael C — Google review

Cool place but outdated. The only thing I was most concerned with was the old trex wood ,climbing the towers . They were all split and dry rotted looking very unsafe. Suprised the state doesn't allows them to be open.

Mike M — Google review

We had such a great time on our first visit. We arrived shortly after they opened. Got great seats, lounge chairs and rented an umbrella, kids did zip line, go karts, we had lunch and played in water all day! The owner and staff were so very nice and accommodating. They went out of their way to help us when we had a little personal clothing issue! Definitely recommend! Thank you!!

Lisa F — Google review

There's not many waterslides. Needs an update, but it wasn't terrible. I think this would be geared more towards children 8-14.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Central New York Living History Center. We visited the Museum as Guest of the Harvest Hosts Program. The staff members were incredibly kind, helpful and accomodating. We had an unfortunate incident as we arrived when my daughter slipped on the steps of our RV and sprained her ankle pretty badly. They were very understanding and helpful and gave us advice where we could seek medical attention. The next morning My daughter was feeling better, and the museum had several loaner wheelchairs of all types that we could borrow to visit the museum. The museum is very interesting and the docents were very enthusiastic and knowledgable. I never knew about the great history of Brockway trucks. We also learned a great deal about the local history of Cortland and Hober as well as about Fire Trucks and Fire Fighters in general. Unfortunatly the Agriculture museum was closed due to a power failure. On Fri and Sat they have a fund raiser rummage sale, and we were able to pick up a few needed items For our RV and a few gifts. A really wonderful experience overall Thank You every one there for being so kind and understanding!!

This is a fascinating place. We took our Grandsons ages 9 & 14. They both found things to love. The trucks and the train layouts were amazing. We spent the whole morning. At lunchtime the volunteer guides (all great!) suggested the Hollywood Restaurant which is casual and has a menu for all ages.We returned after lunch to see the upstairs, the barn with farm equipment and back to the trains! A fire station is coming too, so we'll be back.

The new addition is coming along nicely. Glad to add the new ringing equipment to the bell. Great people to work with and the clock inside the museum has a great story to it. White’s Clock and Carillon. Whitescc.com

The staff were every personable and welcoming. Half the museum is the once private collection of a single collector. Primarily military stuff with some trains thrown in. The two model railroad layouts were a big hit with the kids. The other have focuses on Brockway Trucks and farm tractors. Sadly most were missing any sign giving information about the vehicle. It's a nice local museum run by dedicated folk.

Fort Ontario State Historic Site is a 19th-century fortress with an intriguing star-shaped design. It houses military structures and walls, all of which offer breathtaking views of Lake Ontario. The site is well-preserved, and the exhibitions showcasing period relics narrate the area's rich history. Besides, historians dressed in traditional apparel offer insights about the soldiers' lives stationed here over many years. A nominal admission fee applies to visitors, but it's worth every penny given the experience on offer.

Love local history! I work nearby and always wanted to check this place out - so happy we finally did!Admission prices are reasonable. Staff are dressed in period attire and very informative. Buildings are staged, have informational videos and the outside is a beautiful walk, below and above.

If you like history this is a wonderful place to visit. I've been there several times, they dress in period clothes, host reenactments, share the early American historical facts as our country was shaping. There is a small cemetery off to one corner, ask about anything - the staff is very helpful in answering. Great place to bring the kids - especially so they can learn a bit about our country.

Theresa J — Google review

Very well maintained fort. The staff was dressed in period clothing and helpful.Very interesting history and a fun self guided tour. Great for the entire family and have a picnic in the park.

Christopher W — Google review

If you're a history buff, this is a neat place to spend a couple hours wandering around. The staff/ volunteers were dressed in Civil War period clothing and were knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions about the fort. There was a musket demonstration, and visitors have access to most of the buildings and areas. If there is a gift shop, it was not open the day we were there visiting. There is a historical cemetery behind the fort dating back to 1776/1783. Was sombering to see gravestones of soldiers who lost their lives for their country.Overall it was interesting to see the long and varied history of this fort.

Great place to be with kids and family. It’s a small Historic fort surrounded by Lake Ontario, a baseball park and a huge playground. Tickets are $4 and kids under 12 are free

Piyush S — Google review

A very interesting place to visit if history is your thing. The fort and grounds are very well kept and the displays of period artifacts tell the story of the many layers of history which occurred here. The historians dressed in period clothing were very knowledgeable and provided insight into the lives of the troops stationed here over the years. Lake Ontario provides a stunning backdrop to the area as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. There is a minimal charge for visitors but the experience is well worth it.

The gentlemen inside the fort are so passionate about the history of this fort which is wonderful! Easily spend an hour exploring the fort and then another half hr exploring the grounds around.

Mona — Google review

Amazing historical site. The volunteers and staff are all history junkies and will be able to answer almost any questions regarding the facilities. I had a wonderful experience climbing the ramparts and exploring the underground structures. Some of the buildings are currently undergoing renovations, but the Fort is worth visiting for the conversations alone. Highly recommended for history junkies.

Dark S — Google review

This is a great experience for the history buff. One could easily spend a couple of hours wandering around the old fort. There are some pretty great views from the tops of the ramparts around the fort of Lake Ontario. Even my 14 year old son had fun checking out all the displays in each of the buildings. We arrived late in the day, not long before close but were told if we came earlier there would be more re-enactments throughout the day and the staff we spoke to was very knowledgeable about the fort and it’s history.

Jen W — Google review

Nice Fort they are trying their best to Preserve. I loved the iPads which gave you access to extra information on artifacts. I'm sure during bigger events there are more people there to provide information. When we went there was just one person in the gift shop and one person taking admission fees. We were lucky that a couple of the part-time summer hired groundskeepers were knowledged and answered questions and provided information to make the self tour more interesting.

Christine K — Google review

Fun little taste of history that can be covered in an hour or two with your kids. Longer if you can get them to stop and read the descriptions! My kids especially love the tunnels under the fort. $4 per adult, kids under 12 are free.

The history of this area is amazing and beautiful. The fort has gone through many stages over hundreds of years, including providing refuge to almost 1,000 jewish people escaping during WWII. Highly recommend

The reenactment staff was extremely knowledgeable. I love history this was very informative. I had no clue almost 1000 people were brought here in 1945 from Italy that were fleeing German occupied countries. I definitely recommend. If I could I would give it 1000 stars.

Karen L — Google review

Beautiful, well kept histroic site. You can walk around the outside and the cemetery for free (no parking charges either). Or enter the fort to tour 3 structures and underground areas for $4 (children 12 and under are free). Several workers were available to give information or ask questions.

Historic family home of notable Victorian inventor displaying photography & vintage interiors.

Architecture is amazing. History of family was interesting. Tour guide very knowlegable and willing to answer questions we had. I'm very interested in ghosts/paranormal, so this was a place that offered stories on hauntings/activites. It is decorated during the holidays - I need to make my way back there for that!

Wonderful old house with a lot of spectacular woodwork, furniture and old history. Our tour guide was very informative and spent a lot of time describing wonderful details about the owners and their history. Sad to see such a unique place not to have enough money for the upkeep. It takes a lot of money to restore those old places but the USA should care more about their history and be more interested in preserving it for the future generations. Most countries do that in order to respect the past in order to build a better future.

The most enchanting location in central new york! Perfect for a tour of history or to host your wedding/event! I photographed a wedding over the summer at the 1890 House Museum and the staff were AMAZING! They opened the entire museum to us to use for portraits - were so so easy going and made the entire wedding day experience wonderful with no hiccups! BEAUTIFUL MUSEUM AND ROOTS OF OUR CORTLAND HISTORY!

Wow - an unexpected and hidden gem. Visiting Syracuse for graduation and had pretty much seen everything there. Widened our search and found the 1890 House in Cortland. We scheduled a guided tour (highly recommended) and enjoyed a 1.5 hour tour of the house. Our guide, Steve, was super nice, very knowledgeable, and obviously quite passionate about the property. We have visited a *lot* of historic homes but this one had some features we had never seen before (e.g., hidden shutters) to go along with the beautiful stained glass and woodwork. 100% worth the drive down from Syracuse or even further, especially If you are an architecture and historic home fan. Lots of other beautiful houses and buildings to see nearby.

David C — Google review

Had a wonderful experience- the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided a lot of background information pertaining to the family and history of the house. The house was very beautiful, especially the woodwork and beaded glass windows. Would highly recommend.

Gary G — Google review

Day trip with my littlest one. She had a blast, and so did I! Many interesting things to look at, and a wonderful tour guide!

Mo D — Google review

Awesome historical place to visit completely run by volunteers.

Alicia F — Google review

Interesting building with 5 sets of stairs to climb. Tour is you are handed a booklet with pictures of the rooms and descriptions not with a tour guide. We were there for over an hour very interesting and some really beautiful wood carved furniture. Lighting is very dim in most rooms. If you like seeing how people of well to do families lived you'll like this. Parking is a hassle as there is no parking lot. When we went street was closed for construction but we found a parking space about 2 blocks away. No public lots around.

Frank P — Google review

It is a gorgeous home and interesting story of how the owner became rich. There were a lot of antics & history of the house and good view from widow room at the top. The first floor had the most & best Xmas decorations.Unfortunately not much to be excited about from the rest of the place

Xanto W — Google review

Was a great experience. Loved the guided tour. Staff ( Lee) was very knowledgeable and friendly. Recommend for those who love history.

Jeffrey C — Google review

This museum was BEAUTIFUL!!!! The ladies at the front desk were amazing and you can tell that they truly care about this house by the way they explain and point out every little detail. My boyfriend and I were shocked and in awe the whole time during the tour. Please go visit if you’re near! It’s definitely worth the time!

We attended one of their special events! The New Year's Afternoon Tea. It was absolutely lovely. Delicious, friendly staff, beautifully decorated home. Wonderful afternoon. Beautiful, historic home.

Beaver Lake Nature Center

Park

Nature & Parks

Arboretum

Nature preserve

Nature-study area with 9 miles of all-season walking trails, a lake & regular educational programs.

Beautiful trails. The lake loop needs some work in order to keep from sinking so plan on getting your feet wet on that trail. Otherwise, great place!

Tim T — Google review

Beautiful hike around the lake, about 3 miles long, pretty flat besides a few spots. Scenery is perfect, especially in the fall

Joseph D — Google review

Beaver Lake is a great leveled trail for those with issues on trails elevation changes. The Lake Loop around lake is about 3 miles and has some great spots to stop and just take in the environment. Very kid friendly given the intermittent trails like Hemlock Hollow or the Woodland trail. Don’t forget to keep an eye open for the frogs in green swampy water. The kids will love to see them poke their heads out 👍

Moe B — Google review

What a great place to hike in the winter! Great trail all the way around the lake, very accessible. About 3 miles around with lots to see. Nature center has nice restrooms, a shop, docents, and a bird viewing area.

Phil K — Google review

Always a nice spot for a walk. Masks are required while passing someone on a path.Update: social distancing is encouraged. Masks are personal preference. During our last visit we got within 10 ft of a deer family quietly eating and sun bathing - they surprised us more than we surprised them. Also saw a few snapping turtles, a bald eagle, handful of cardinals, a great blue heron and a weasel swimming during our walk around the lake trail.

Emily K — Google review

Absolutely love this place! So calm and peaceful. All pictures are from the lakeloop trail.

Amanda H — Google review

Attended the Beaver Lake's Coffeehouse featuring Colin Aberdeen and had an awesome time. Very intimate setting, sound was crystal clear, and the performance was incredible. This was the last Coffeehouse concert for the season. Even though I am a little disappointed there aren't any more shows for a while, I now have something to forward to when it returns.

Tommy P — Google review

My husband and I really love this place. The trails are all so different and large enough to where you don’t see or run into a lot of other people. Plus, all the ferns in the woods are incredibly beautiful!

Anna C — Google review

Ample parking, you pay $5 when you leave to park. They have lots of different trails to walk. Shorter trails and some longer ones. Lots of shade on most of the trails which keeps you cooler while walking/ hiking them. Family friendly aswell which is nice. The nature center has a spot where you can watch birds inside. We saw lots yellow finches & cardinals at the bird watch area in the nature center. Plenty of different benches available to sit while walking the trails which was nice. We even got to see a baby deer . It was laying near one of the walking trails. So one of the workers helped to guide it towards a part of the woods close by that didn't have alot of hikers. They have a smell, touch, taste ,see area near the nature center for patrons. A little frog pond aswell.A gift shop is also located inside the nature center. You can even rent kayaks I believe on the weekends at certain times of the year . Nice place to hike and have a picnic by yourself or with family. No bikes are allowed on the trails.

Nicole G — Google review

This place is phenomenal. Just outstanding trail system, I did about 7 miles, it’s a little over 9 miles of trails. Lot of benches and easy hiking, it does cost $ 5 but so worth it just do it

Mike P — Google review

Great place to hike! A good variety of trails as far as lengths. A little slippery on the winter decks over the watershed so be careful!$5 parking or a year long membership is about $30. The membership is worth it as they then communicate with you about all the events they have there. They have good events there!

Sarah A — Google review

This place is a gem and well worth the $5.00 admission fee. The trails are well marked and well groomed. They are easy to traverse as well. One could easily spend a few hours here

Laura K — Google review

The only local hiking area I actively dislike, and I have been to them all. I've tried this place maybe half a dozen times trying to give it a chance but it remains unenjoyable. If you have a giant group of children, this is definitely the place to go, but if you want to enjoy nature this is not. I have never been on a day where it is not overrun with what must be schools or camps of unsupervised children screaming at the tops of their lungs. There must be a shooting range somewhere nearby and no matter how far you get into the trails you hear nonstop screaming and gunshots. Not a peaceful combo. This is also the one and only local nature trail where I have found garbage discarded along the trails every single visit. Not dog friendly. Overall, it's not a good time for anyone hoping to see wildlife, enjoy nature, or hike. Luckily we live in an area with numerous other wonderfully maintained nature trails.

Sarah S — Google review

What a gem of a park! A very nice welcome center with a small gift shop and clean restrooms. There is a place inside the welcome center that overlooks several bird feeders so you can sit and watch the many birds and squirrels that visit the feeders. There are several trails at the park with, in my opinion, the best of them being the Lake Loop trail which is a 3 mile, well marked trail that will take you through the woods, around the lake and through a few bogs. There are a few spots along the trail that lets you view the entire lake. They have kayak and canoe rentals so if you want to take a paddle around the lake, they have you covered.Helpful and knowledgable staff on hand at the welcome center to help you with any questions you may have.Entrance to the park is only 5 dollars and that is a bargain!

Michael B — Google review

May is a great time of year for Frogs! The nature center and bathrooms are well maintained with an excellent educational exhibit. Areas for entertainment and a variety of hikes and trails to walk. I recommend snacks and water for the 3mi trail but its mostly flat and lots of great respit areas.$5 per car.

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum is located in an antique warehouse on a pier and showcases historic boats and sea-related artifacts. Despite its unassuming exterior, the museum offers an exceptional experience for families with children at reasonable prices. The real highlight of the tour is exploring the ships outside with a knowledgeable guide like Tim, who can answer any question about everything nautical.

What a fantastic place for families, children, it's well priced and there is a lot to experience with helpful people always there to provide information.

GoGo G — Google review

Excellent museum totally worth the visit. We really enjoyed our visit. Easy parking to boot

Amy R — Google review

Nice little museum. We were the only visitors on a cold and hard blowing January day, and the staff and volunteers were genuinely glad to see us. Nice exhibits, well maintained, even some hands-on stuff, well worth a stop, highly recommend.

David S — Google review

We took the lighthouse tour on Friday 23 June 2023. It was well run and very much on time. The docents knew their stuff and the lighthouse itself, although in a state of repair is very neat to see.The museum was included in the price of the lighthouse tour, and it was very good. You can see the original Fresnel lens, and there are all kinds of other good information. The only thing I could see doing a little differently is, Putting the displays behind glass in many cases as people could loot them. The docent at the museum, who took us to the barge and the Tugboat was also very good and knowledgeable. This was a well spent 2 1/2 hours for us and well worth the trip.

Bill H — Google review

Pulled into the parking lot and saw The Dredge and the tugboat and there was parking there so we stopped walked up inside and saw that you could do a self tour through an app or just self-guided. Then we went over to the tugboat read the information boards there and saw that you could not go on it to view it until summer of next year-June 2024. Then we walked down to the actual Maritime Museum where there was more parking and where we probably should have stopped at first. There was no signage to direct you to the museum first. So after looking at the dredge and the tugboat we now had to pay $10 to go through a small museum that while somewhat informative I feel is a little overpriced especially since there was nobody there that seemed very knowledgeable or willing to provide some extra informationto make the museum more interesting. Gift shop had some decent stuff. It would have definitely been worth the $10 if the price of admission included actually touring on the tugboat. Unfortunately unless you also purchase a separate ticket you have no access to get close enough or even take decent pictures unless you have a professional camera of the lighthouse. Unless you are a true maritime buff this one is a hit or miss.

Christine K — Google review

Quality museum with great exhibits and information. The boats outside are great touring places. It’s totally worth it.

James C — Google review

Informative museum with kid-friendly exhibits. Seeing the Derrick 8 canal boat with engines and boiler was fascinating. The LT-5 tug boat that participated in the D-Day invasion was very interesting and surprising. Highly recommend a stop at this museum if you are in Oswego.

Pam T — Google review

Kid friendly and we had the best guide today! He was so good with the kids, asked great questions AND gave all the kids a chance to answer! Plus he’d been to all the maritime museums we’d been to and Battleship Cove so that was fun for the kids also. It’s a small but really well done piece of history! Our guide also recommended a fun kid friendly restaurant 🥰 we really enjoyed Rudy’s so thank you Mr. Guide

Sue L — Google review

The Oswego Lighthouse Tour is informative and fun. From our cordial Captain Chuck to the informative volunteers inside the lighthouse, it was a very good experience.

Fascinating Museum. The 2nd floor of the museum is chock full of exhibits about Oswego, the lighthouse and the Life Saving Service. The gift shop has a large selection of items. We enjoyed the narrated tour of the PT Boat and Barge. There is a large parking lot and picnic tables.

Sandra F — Google review

A very unique hidden treasure with Oswego. I’ve been here multiple times throughout my life and I’ll while it looks small on the outside but can take awhile to tour; especially for someone that is new to maritime history. The tugboat docked outside has an interesting story; being the last U.S. Army vessel that served during D-Day and is still operational today.Highly recommend that you visit this small yet unique maritime museum. It’s not everyday that you see a ship that was present at D-Day (and also shot down an enemy plane).

Noah F — Google review

complimentary with the lighthouse tour and well worth the time. boats and maritime history of oswego was very enjoyable.

Great little Museum with lots packed inside. There's some great local historical information here. There are a couple other historical boats nearby as well. The family loved it!

C G — Google review

Way cooler than you'd think from the outside. The real meat of the tour isn't indoors, it's going through the ships with a guide.Let Tim take you on a tugboat tour, the guy knows everything about everything!

Nice easy walking on wooden boardwalk to see the falls. Very accessible for everyone ( at least to see the falls) The other surrounding trails are fairly easy, but with moderate stairs (150 steps we counted!) Great over all hike. There is a porter-john in the parking area.

Nadine T — Google review

outstanding falls but a lot of people get hurt here or die. simply because they don't use that lump 3 feet above their butt. the town has has close it down temporary to make it safe for those idiots that wear flip flops or sandals to hike in.

Jim C — Google review

The boardwalk improvements leading to an accessible observation area of the falls are wonderful and I can easily climb the stairs down to below the falls.

Emily F — Google review

The new parking lot and boardwalk to viewing area are incredible. Very easy short walk. Great for wheelchair or stroller. There is a side trail when you reach the falls that goes down 165 stairs. Stairs are also new and in good condition but there was no railing to assist for stability or to pull yourself back up. No drop off so reasonably safe still. Our 5 year old did fine on them for reference. Additional viewpoint of the falls at the base of the stairs. People were walking the creek bed but we did not due to having young children with us. We did see an adult slip and fall in, while amusing note that the rocks are slick. There is a porta-potty at the parking lot which isn't the cleanest but functional. Bring some wipes or sanitizer for your hands as it was out during our visit.Parking lot isn't huge and probably fills up at peak times so plan accordingly. This is a bit out of the way and sort of "middle of nowhere" so I would integrate it with other activities and make it a stop on the journey. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy waterfalls.

Chris P — Google review

Absolutely stunning, just wish there was a garbage can or two. I brought my own bag to clean up litter and there was nowhere to put it. In fact, there was a pile of garbage including sanitary products next to the single porta potty in the parking lot.

Jackie S — Google review

The falls were incredible, water was rushing. We did not go all the way - the end portion was so slick from recent rain (mud all over...)you would have had to repel down holding on to a rope. Quick hike and well worth the experience.

Katja J — Google review

It's a beautiful spot. We stopped there on our way back to NYC. Love the fact that it's so well maintained and accessible, yet natural and beautiful.

Insiya P — Google review

I love that there is a short walkway that is easily wheelchair accessible, we were able to take family that normally would not be able to see awesome places like this!

Mike — Google review

Beautiful! Easy hike from the parking lot to view the fall. But if you want to get close, there is a rope railing that you have to hold on to as you shimmy down the steep slope. If you are careful you can even walk behind the fall. The falls is only a half mile from the parking lot.

Abigail M — Google review

Carpenter Falls is not yet a state park, however the state is currently constructing a parking lot, elevated wooden path and viewing platforms. It is a 20 minute drive south from Skaneatles. I don’t recommend going out of your way to view this fall unless you plan to walk the creek up to the falls. There isn’t much for swimming holes here.

Joseph R — Google review

Loved the new walkway to the falls. Thank you to those that made hiking accessible to all❤️ The walk way to the falls is handicap accessible and easy. There is more steps to the bottom of the trail for those who can handle stairs.

Lori F — Google review

The trail to the falls is only 0.1 miles, but was much more challenging than we anticipated! There's even a trail option that requires holding on to a rope. From what we heard from other hikers, there used to be more ropes, and it was much easier to navigate. We ended up taking the muddier route to the base of the falls, and boy it was worth it! The water was the perfect temperature, and it was very scenic. The rocks at the base had algae, so they were a little slippery, but if you take it slow it's nice. We went to the top of the falls as well, but we were afraid to get too close. What a treat!

S. C — Google review

Great fine. Not overly busy. Accessible parking and boardwalk to main viewing deck. Did trail through DEC property onto FLLT property to Skaneateles lake. Good trail and route marking.

Ontario Orchards is a diverse marketplace that offers an assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, specialty meats, cheeses and doughnuts. Additionally, customers can find gardening supplies such as bushes and trees. Although some items may be costly, the store provides a pleasant shopping experience with friendly staff. The nursery boasts a broad range of plants in excellent condition and well-maintained for purchase. Ontario Orchards bakery is also highly recommended for their delicious pies and heavenly baked goods.

The store and the staff are great.Their nursery has a very good selection of plants, shrubs and trees. Very good condition and well cared for. I drive 60 miles to buy from a nursery I can trust. It's worth the drive.

Randy W — Google review

They were open new years day surprisingly so. So I drove 2 hours to purchase a special kind of jam they had. All I can think of it is a 7-Eleven of farmers markets; not in a derogatory way. It was small enough it had a vast variety of items. Will be back of course

Penn 1 — Google review

Great place for fresh produce and more. The nursery is spectacular.

Carl M — Google review

This place is a gem! We had the fortune of staying a beautiful, serene night in their apple orchard via harvest hosts. As pleasant as our overnight was the market experience transcended. Every worker with with whom we spoke was friendly and knowledgeable. Their fruit and vegetables were out of this world. The peaches in particular. We purchased an elk sausage with pear, potato, and port wine that was incredible. Heck, the morning coffee and apple cider donut was as good as we've had. Ontario Orchards will be a fixture in our Upstate NY travels.

Rick G — Google review

We stopped at this farm market recently on our way home from Oswego. They offer a large variety of items for sale in a somewhat compact space. Besides a large selection of fruits and vegetables, they also have baked goods, ice cream, fudge, honey, maple products, spices, packaged nuts, a variety of vinegars, bird feeders and bird seed, dog foods and dog supplies, house plants, lawn & garden decorations, canning supplies, wind chimes, craft beer supplies, and on and on. They also have an on-site nursery with outdoor plants and shrubs. Something for everyone, and I'm sure I left out some things. Prices were a bit high for a number of items, but that's probably not unexpected. They offer a large parking lot with lots of free parking. A fun place to shop and browse. This property is located on a curve, so pulling out into oncoming traffic as you leave may need some special attention.

R J — Google review

Many fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. Specialty meats, doughnuts, cheeses, and much more. Also gardening supplies bushes, and trees. Some items are a bit pricey but overall a very nice and pleasant experience every time we go.

My husband brought home your baked goods today and they were the best I've ever had!!! You're more than an hour away from our house but thinking the drive would be so worth it!!! Thank you so much! 💓

Kathie B — Google review

Great selection of local and local-ish products. Produce is high quality and reasonable priced. The pictures speak for themselves. Definitely worth the trip everytime we are in town

Mary S — Google review

We visit every year when we drive up for the Sterling Renaissance Faire, and it's honestly almost as much of a highlight of the trip as the Faire itself. Such wonderful selection, both in variety and price, that we barely even pack food for our overnight camp-out; most of what we eat during our annual weekend we pick-up at the orchard and take with us (and always bring plenty home afterwards, too!). Wonderful produce, and delicious pastries. The first time we stumbled in almost by accident, but we've returned every year since and intend to keep coming as long as the Faire exists to bring us to the area. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Nicky W — Google review

The best farm store I have ever been in. Twenty plus years I've been going there. Great coffee, great muffins, great snacks. Fresh local produce, garden supplies, a full nursery, and ornamental plants. Smiling staff who remember you from year to year.

K N — Google review

The store was very well stocked with all types of delicious produce and groceries. We purchased some fresh fruits including delicious peaches and cherries, as well as some prepared foods to stock our pantry. We camped overnight in their orchard as guests of the Harvest Hosts Program. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ontario Orchards near Oswego, NY. As noted by others, the beautiful and secluded campsite is about 5 miles away from the store. The very quiet and serene campsite is located between an apple orchard and Christmas tree grove. The parking was mostly level firm grass, and we were surrounded by birds and wildflowers and were treated to a gaggle of turkeys with their chicks the following morning. We were somewhat hesitant about parking in the grass as there were very heavy rains that afternoon, but the grassy parking area is actially very firm with gravel underneath and we had no problems whatsoever parking and maneuvering our 28ft motorhome. Be sure to bring insect repellent as you are completely surrounded by nature. Fairhaven Beach State Park, and the Sterling Nature Center on the bluffs overlooking Lake Ontario are nearby. We had a very pleasant stay, and I hope to be able to return again.

Robert W — Google review

Great farm Market. Prices are a bit high. Staff very helpful. Fresh eggs, fruit and bakery items. Love the scones. Fresh herbs available as well.

DJ T — Google review

The peaches from this place were the best I have ever eaten. We loaded the car up with peaches, apples, baked goods and apple cider. We ended up coming back the next day to get a few more boxes of everything. We used those peaches like currency, giving a few to the boat charter and the hotel receptionist and everyone we bumped into. Still had enough to share with family when we reached home. Definitely a highlight of the whole trip, and will be sure to visit anytime are within 50 miles.

A must stop farm stand and pick your own orchard! Take the hilly drive through the fall foliage to check out this hidden gem! Jam packed with all fall produce and fresh baked goods with the fresh scent of the pies, donuts, cakes, and giant cinnamon buns and much more, wafting throughout this amazing farm stand as you shop! Many decorative items for fall and Christmas season as well! Fudge, nuts, and all the seasonal treasures you can imagine! I left with a box full of goodies. Help was just a little short even early on a weekday but I can imagine it’s been a super busy season. I was going to go back for a bunch of pumpkins but it seemed they were overwhelmed. I definitely will make the drive again!

I can’t say enough about this wonderful place. Part store part orchard part nursery. And the bakery is heaven. Feed store to boot. They have something for everyone. And did I mention the pies. Awesome just awesome.

Shawn S — Google review

Store just southeast of Oswego and just a few minutes down 104 from the college, featuring local produce in great abundance. I’ll never forget when I went here with a friend years ago and they asked if the eggs were cage free, to which the answer was “I’ll ask the farmer.” Doesn’t get much more local than that!

Zachary P — Google review

Love this place! Lots of fresh veggies fruits amish baked goods(the half moon cookies are the best) plants dirt aged cheese at the counter (excellent) seasonings beverages old fashion milk with the cream on top. And much more items. A fun place to shop and is open all year.

We fell in love with Ontario Orchards as college students, and have made regular visits for more than a decade after graduating. The staff and products are fantastic.

Bodies of Water

Skaneateles Lake is a well-known destination for boating, yachting, lake cruises, and fishing. It is located on the northern end of the lake and offers various boutiques and eateries along Genesee and Jordan streets in Skaneateles village. The lake's size of sixteen miles in length and three-quarters of a mile in width has earned it the name "long lake" in Iroquois language.

Breathtaking and friendly. A must see.

Perfect Picnic spot near Syracuse. It has got loads of amazing restaurants to eat.

Okay, for starters the water is crystal clear! How have I lived in the Finger Lakes region and never knew this was here...?! This lake is literally breathtaking. From the boat launch, to downtown Skaneateles, to all of the beautiful houses along the lake, this is gorgeous! I dropped in at the boat launch with a friend, and we kayaked all the way up to downtown Skaneateles, hopped out, and had lunch downtown. The entire day was fantastic and this is a place I will always return to because it’s so relaxing. On the north side of the lake - there are some sand bars so you can hop out and go swimming if you’re on a boat. Or, in our case, we pulled our kayaks to the edge and hopped out and went swimming. Couldn’t have been more perfect! The water is so clear, you can see fish swimming and they’ll even swim up to your kayak. The whole experience was so fun.

Skaneateles Lake is a true gem. One of the cleanest lakes in the US. Crystal clear water. Great fishing, boating, swimming. It's heaven.

We just drove past, but the public access near the Sherwood inn, but the view was BEAUTIFUL. The Village is historical but very nice, your even able to see the mountains from the public access to the lake! Will have to stop here soon.

Very bourgeois like little Town, great day excursion for self care/family/couples.

Beautiful lake and surrounding area. Plenary of places to stay around the lake via AirBnB or Vrbo. Less than an hour from Ithaca and many falls are nearby with good trails for hiking.

Anyela's Vineyards is a standout among the wineries in Skaneateles, offering stunning views and an expansive facility. The vineyard boasts a selection of exceptional reds and whites, with unique flavors that stand out in New York State. Visitors can enjoy live music while savoring wine and taking in the breathtaking scenery of Skaneateles Lake. The friendly and knowledgeable staff add to the inviting atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind with a glass of wine.

Very nice place to sit and have a glass of wine. The view over skaneateles lake is AMAZING! They have bands regularly during the spring and summer months. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine.

Fantastic Vineyard...excellent wines and liqueurs. Prices reasonable. Dogs welcome inside and out with complimentary water bowl and all. Albarino was my favorite along with Cherry Liqueur!

Kaitlyn A — Google review

Split the red wine flight with my husband (2oz pours so easily shared) and then purchased a bottle of the Cab Franc, along with a bag of pita chips and cheese curds, to enjoy. Very enjoyable and priced right. We'll be back when the weather is nicer to see what the outdoor area is like!

Ashley O — Google review

Anyela's Vineyard is the gem of Vineyards in Skaneateles! It is also the only one I am aware of given the high cost of land in the area. This large vineyard offers some great views, a nice facility and the best reds I have ever had in New York State! All of the (4) reds I tried were amazing and unique. The whites were a hit a well and on par or better than most others in the region. We came at an off peak time of year, but we can see how this location would be packed during prime season. They have a jazz festival with attracts thousands of visitors each year. There is a specialty room (lower level accessed from outside) which is available for parties.Carter was our wine expert on our visit. From the area and knowledgeable not only about the winery but the lake and geography of the area as well. Who knew it is the finger lake at the highest elevation and boasts some of the cleanest water in the United States. He added interesting insight to our experience. We will return again!HINT: If you are looking for an excuse to visit the area (Summer concerts and live music along with a Charles Dickenson Christmas Carol events during the weekend (the later in town). The area is beautiful and somewhere worthy of checking out!

M. K — Google review

I usually like red wines over white but their white wines were really great. The wine flights were decent pours for 15$ for 4 glasses. It was a nice time and atmosphere. For not really liking wine this is a great place.

David D — Google review

TL/DR over priced and low qualityThe wine is average, but definitely over priced. The liquor tasting is terrible. The cheese plate was decent but really for a maximum of two people. The event space and vibe is cool, most of the tall seating has no backs and is uncomfortable. There is essentially zero AC so definitely dress ready for being hot.If you decide to come here maybe buying individual glasses of specific wines would be better but the flights are not impressive. The pizza is the best thing here... That tells you enough about the wine. You can't get tap water they charge for bottles, or atleast the employees expected us to pay.We definitely left dissatisfied with 150 dollars less in our pockets.

Nick V — Google review

It’s not just a winery. It’s a destination. And great views of the lake. Truly lovely wine and location. Really loved this.

Ann T — Google review

This winery has an amazing view facing the finger lakes with a patio to sit, drink and eat. It was my first time coming here, so I tried the wine tasting. I loved their wine so much, I bought five bottles to bring home to share with family and friends. Will return this summer!

Gabrielle R — Google review

Our first outdoor concert event at the winery. Acoustics were great. Seats were ok (maybe bring a cushion...). The grounds are especially lovely this time of year.

Gary W — Google review

The vineyard grounds were impeccably maintained. The wine/liquor and food were average. A little difficult to navigate inside and confusing when trying to order food/beverages.

Jesse T — Google review

Excellent Winery located in Skaneatlus NY. We visited twice while we were visiting the village of Dickens festival. We bought 4 bottles of wine. 2 reds 2 white. Red: cabaret franc and White: avail. I highly reccomed both. Tasting was both knowledgeable and fun! Thank you. Second time we came to visited we enjoyed sipping on wine and listening to the live music. We definitely will return to Anyelas Vineyards again next time we are in Skaneatlus.

Cindy M — Google review

This winery has an amazing view facing the Finger Lakes with a patio to sit, drink, eat and relax . It was my first time vising a vineyard, and I was impress, Beautifully manicured garden and a Relaxing Gazebo seating area to taste the local family owned wine.I had such a beautiful experience just walking through the grapevines and just tasting a few, from right off the vine.

Amo F — Google review

It’s a great place to taste some wine, listen to music and eat a bit of pizza.Took a few minutes to figure out where to order food versus get some wine or beer with the various rooms and areas to sit in.Second and the oddest to me was the security person carrying a side arm with extra clips of ammo. What exactly happened there before or what are they expecting to happen? Trying to make sure that bridal party of Karen’s doesn’t get too crazy. LolGives your wine tasting a slightly different vibe.

Zachary J — Google review

Good wine, great ambiance. The gardens are just lovely and the view is fantastic. Staff is very upbeat and friendly. Lots of space, so your party doesn't have to feel crowded. Enjoy your wine and then take a walk, making for a very nice date.

Alison N — Google review

Went there on Sun 6/19/22 in the late afternoon with 2 friends and walked in. The female bartender didn't smile and greet me at the bar. While I was waiting for my friends she waited on a man. I asked her questions about the wine flights ($15 for preselected) ($20 for custom). I asked another we question and she was quite rude. My friends ordered wine. I did not and walked the grounds. I am not paying for rude service! The grounds were very weedy. If I was paying for a wedding, I would not be happy.

State park

Nature & Parks

Fillmore Glen State Park is a picturesque destination for camping, hiking, and fishing. The park features a densely wooded area surrounding a gorge, with stunning cascades and waterfalls such as Cowsheds Falls, Dalibarda Falls, Upper Pinnacle Falls, and Lower Pinnacle Falls. While the initial climb to reach the gorge may be steep, the trail through it is relatively flat and easy to navigate.

This was my first time visiting and it's such a beautiful state park! Only 8 dollars to get in for the day. They have three main trails, the Gorge Trail, the North Rim Trail and the South Rim Trail. We walked the Gorge Trail and looped to the North Rim Trail. Both together was about 5.77 miles. I have two little ones and they were able to make it in about three hours. There are a lot of stairs and muddy areas, but the views during and at the end are absolutely worth the work you put in. I would recommend over and over.

Felisha F — Google review

Filmore Glen State Park is modest in size and less crowded than other state parks. The waterfall is conveniently close to the parking area. Worth a trip for locals it’s under an hour away from Ithaca’s larger more spectacular state parks.

Joseph R — Google review

Nice park with gorge ,waterfalls ,and a natural swimming pool. (Pool not open as yet but I see it will be very soon). Good bathhouse with dedicated dish wash area. Lots of hilly trails to hike and beautiful sights . Ten electric lots that are very roomy, paved, and flat .

Todd C — Google review

Modest and less crowded than other state parks. The short walk to the waterfalls, during the summer, makes it more convenient for people with disabilities, the elderly, and little kids. The southern rim hike up the mountain has been closed off to the public for some time due to hazardous conditions.

Joseph R — Google review

Nice falls In Fillmore Glen state park. Hiking is up the sides of the gorge so it’s not for anyone with health issues. A pavilion and small campground is also near the falls. Very nice park.

Mary M — Google review

Fillmore Glen State Park is a tranquil retreat nestled in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes region. This state park is an oasis of cool, dense woods crowding into a long, narrow gorge, offering visitors a chance to escape into nature’s embrace. The park’s hiking trails wind through unique geological formations and provide spectacular views, including the sight of five stunning waterfalls and a botanically rich glen. With amenities like 60 campsites, a stream-fed swimming pool, and fishing in the Owasco Lake inlet, Fillmore Glen State Park is perfect for both adventure seekers and those looking to relax. Whether you’re setting up camp, taking a refreshing swim, or exploring the rugged beauty of the gorge, this park is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the peaceful side of the Empire State.

Anwar H — Google review

Temp drops several degrees in the Gorge- refreshing in the summer! Great hike, I'd say medium difficulty, or less, depending - definitely not handicapped accessible. Bring your suit if you want to chill in the crystal clear flowing water!

Beautiful place to bad the trails were closed which i understand bc ice but they had no mention of this on there site so it was a let down an i wish they comunicsted better however i still plan on coming back in april an see how it is in full an hopefully raise my review score

This is a nice small town state park. We have a 35 foot 5th wheel and we were a little too big for the park. We were able to get around OK but there are some.low hanging branches and we had to go slow to maneuver around. It was nice to have a convenience store/gas station/subway restaurant across the street. We did the drive up to the dam and walked partner the trail and saw the falls. We had our dog with us and he was allowed to all parts of the park.

Dacks — Google review

Fantastic park, the cabins were awesome and reasonably priced. Lots of things to keep the kids busy including the swimming hole (which opened early due to heat, so thanks for that!), the playground and of course the glen itself. Quiet campground, clean bathrooms and friendly staff. We will be back for sure.

J P — Google review

The trail through the glen is a hidden gem. Very much reminds me of Watkins Glen. On this cloudy and rainy Saturday I had the glen all to myself. The fall colors and stream through the glen were beautiful.

Chris V — Google review

Amazing hikes and beautiful views around every corner. Planned a last minute trip and was blown away by how gorgeous this park was. The camping was level and easy to access. I loved driving through the creek. Saw a wedding and a few soccer matches. Quite a busy park when I was there early autumn.

Jo K — Google review

Found this park after asking a local for a good place to swim. The day was hot, and it was a perfect escape from the heat. The swimming hole was clean, shady and refreshing, with lifeguards present. Bathrooms very clean. The water is cold! Although we did not stay there, the campground also looked clean and pleasant.

Elizabeth Z — Google review

Very nice park. Washrooms were always clean and tidy. Showers were too. There is a dish washing station in each of the washrooms. There of a play ground for the kids. Electric sites were paved and level. The hiking trails were very well marked plenty of trail blazers. Several trails to choose from that were easy enough for us amateurs to tackle. There are different events going on at the park , we lucked out for a huge car show on the Labour Day weekend (Sunday) that had a ton of beautiful cars to view. Would definitely come back again.

Frank I — Google review

Fillmore Glen State Park is an absolute treasure near Moravia, NY. There are multiple trails, but the gorge trail seems to be the most popular. There are beautiful views, especially of the multiple falls and bridges. There are sections that can get pretty slippery when wet, so proper footwear is recommended. I would consider the trails to be considered more moderate than easy with some significant elevation changes.

Megan M — Google review

Great park for camping and hiking. 2 trails, north and south rim, its just over 2.5 miles for the loop, take you to top of gorge where you will find a damn and some great views. If you take the south rim trail, you will have to walk on the road near the top for a little bit to get back on the trail to the top. You will know when bc the trail stops lol. Also a few trails like the gorge, 1.3 mile, and waterfall loop trail, about half mile, are great hikes if you're with pets or small children.

Scott D — Google review

Amazing park with excellent well maintained trails. Beautiful campground and pavilion facilities. Clean and well maintained. Staff could not have been friendlier. A must visit!Dog Friendly - yes bring rabies certificate and must be leashed all times.Playground - YES awesome onesPicnic areas are plentiful bathrooms are clean and well maintained.

D C — Google review

This is a beautiful park! We were on a road trip when we decided to stop, but we are so glad we did! We hiked the Gorge trail. The trail is well maintained and obvious where you should be.The trail follows the creek through the gorge and provides beautiful views of the interesting creek bed, mini waterfalls, and a few larger waterfalls. Please note that there is a long set of stairs near the beginning of the trail that takes you up an incline of a little over 100 feet. The trail after that is mostly flat, but there are smaller sets of stairs along the path going up or down. The trail crisscrosses the creek several times on the path using bridges. The path is mostly a dirt path, but there are some rock covered areas. If you are in the Ithaca, NY area, I highly recommend taking the time to visit this park!

Sharon C — Google review

We love coming here to take the kids swimming, walk the trails, and let them play on the huge playground. Many of the campsites do not have power, but at least one of the loops does. Power hookups are 20, 30, and 50 amp for the ones that do. Water hookups are shared. We will probably camp here at some point now that I've looked around and found the shady sites :)

Christopher C — Google review

Thise who want to see the water can take the gorge trail. Replica cabin is also on site with some cool artifacts from Fillmore’s time. Plenty of room for camping and there’s a swimming hole as well right before take the gorge trail.

I still have not found the words for this amazing experience! The staff was great and made you feel safe the entire time. The views were amazing, we could see all the Finger Lakes and clear to Canada! I jumped tandem with Jeremy who was an excellent instructor, highly recommend! Our friends/family got to wait for us in a dedicated right by the landing zone which was great! We did the photo and video package for our first jump and so glad we did, we got them emailed to us less than 30min after our jump! We tried another in the area first who stole our money and has shut down and reopened numerous times… If you’re going to jump in CNY this is the only place to choose!

This place was so amazing to work with. The staff is super friendly they make it easy to work with them I went with my school club and out of 6 6 different skydiving places I spoke with they were the quickest to respond the easiest to work with and ultimately the people we went with. I would highly recommend them. They are professional, they know exactly what they're doing, and they make you feel very. There camera and photo system is amazing leading to just some great shots and their price is extremely reasonable for what you get

First time jumper here! Kevin & the crew were PHENOMINAL from the training & comfort. I was scared SHI*LESS on the way up and kept asking are we there yet 🤣kev & the other 2 jumpers were great sports and def kept my nerves at ease, as much as they could! The picture & video package is 10000% worth it. I had such a great time I bought another jump! I'll be back again within the year 🥰

10/10 experience for my first time skydiving! Heather, Kev and Jeremy made this experience extremely enjoyable. Easygoing, great hospitality and very friendly. Exceptionally thorough training and instructions to ensure a safe and fun jump. You shouldn't skydive anywhere else!

I took my 18 year old daughter for her first jump as a graduation gift and can not think of a better father/daughter day. Great views, great people, great equipment and just a great time. The instructors were super fun and friendly and dealt with our sarcasm and odd sense of humor perfectly. They are obviously seasoned professionals and ensure safety is paramount while maintaining a fun atmosphere. I will absolutely return to do this again. This may have started as a bucket list item but will likely become a yearly (or more) event and I will do it every time with Skydive Central New York. Thanks you all, hope to see you again soon!

We visited for the first time. Absolute amazing place with amazing beers. By far, my favorite brewery in the finger lakes Here’s my breakdown:Facilities: beautiful grounds that are well manicured with lovely gardens. Large tent and indoor area provided plenty of space for my group. Kid friendly. Dog friendly.Staff: everyone was so hospitable and welcoming. Smiles and warmness made me feel right at home. I even got talking with the brewmaster/owner Chris and he provided me with a wealth of information that assured me that he knows exactly what he’s doing.Beer: I wish I could give 10 stars. I was so impressed with their beers. There wasn’t one that disappointed me. I’m pretty sure I tried all of them but the Ojala (Mexican Lager) was out of this world. Smooth, balanced and soooooo tasty.I can’t wait until next time I pass through so I can grab a bunch of cases. Highly recommended brewery with delicious beers, outstanding staff and beautiful setting. Even got to see a killer sunset from the brewery.Bravo 👏 🍺🍺🍺

Mike W — Google review

Love it, staff was kind and helpful and the beer was delicious 😋

Alex — Google review

Interesting changes since new ownership (loyal patron since opening). Called and left a message to order two kegs for a party and asked for a call back. No one called back, not a huge deal - called again and spoke to presumably the owner, took down 2 keg order on Sunday said to pick up Wednesday. Drove there Wednesday, bartender can’t find order documented anywhere - owner Chris had “just left” will be right back. Wrote down my name and number and the situation and asked bartender to have him call me upon his return. End of night still no call back - called Hopshire same bartender answered -Said oh, he got busy… he was going to try to maybe call tomorrow…. That’s a sad ending to me going to and buying kegs from Hopshire - back when Randy ran it my wife would text and kegs were ready within an hour - shame to see it convert to just plain bad customer service with a new owner

Great beer, the atmosphere was awesome!! The view is beautiful. It didn't hurt that it was a beautiful, sunshiny day♥️

Dahn R — Google review

Excellent little farmhouse brewery. We had a flight, and each of the beers were unique, delicious, and had that farmhouse 'character' you look for in smaller breweries. Bar tender was very friendly and informative. The location is absolutely beautiful, with picnic tables scattered around a lawn, as well as some under a tent canvas. Come watch the sunset or hot air balloons in the distance, and enjoy!

Ann M — Google review

Yes we used to stop by Hopshire but have gone to better places. The beer is not consistent in taste and NO new beers have been introduced. Other places always make something new even after months of not stopping by it's the same beer! Also there is no food when you get hungry!

Great place plus the band playing, Libby and the Thickness, was awesome. I will return to Hopshire anytime Libby is singing there.

Amazing beers and friendly staff! There is a great variety of beers and the overall selection is not overwhelmed by too many of the same style. The outdoor seating it great, especially when trying to socially distance; great place for kids and dogs. Will definitely be visiting again when in the area next!

Dan B — Google review

I love this place! Great beer, friendly staff, and wonderful outdoor area. They are very dog-friendly, and have frequent events like live music and food trucks.

David S — Google review

One of my favorite breweries I've ever been to. I haven't been in a long time but I have fond memories of sitting at their outdoor tables having a few exceptional "Beehaves." Still the best honey ale I've ever had. They keep something on tap for whatever mood you're in.Once I lost a growler cap there in the bin of them they keep. It was a nice cap but nothing to write home about. They kept it for me and remembered that I had lost it at least 6 months later. Still stays with me to this day. Felt the need to finish a review I started a while back. They definitely deserve all the kudos for being a great establishment!

426 is one of the best if you are a tent camper. Lots to do if you have kids especially in the summer. Beautiful sunsets and fun little hiking trails. Very nice people. Stayed three nights and had a great time. Also 5 stars to the “Camp” store which is left to the entrance to the park. Awesome prices on firewood and ice. Very friendly service as well. Cash only but there is an ATM on site. (Aka better than anywhere else and good wood!)

Beautiful place to visit and camp at. Next best thing then going to the ocean. Sand, lifeguards, secluded beaches, hiking trails, kayaking. Would recommend for any family or person to "unplug" and relax in nature.

Corning H — Google review

This is a beautiful state park, absolutely one of the prettiest on Lake Ontario. With the beautiful sand beaches, charming dunes, ample forests, and spectacular bluffs, the scenery is amazing. The park is well maintained and has necessary amenities - changing buildings, showers, snack bar. The beach is staffed with life guards and there are park police keeping an eye on things too. There's plenty of hiking trails, a boat launch, kayak rentals and a scenic pier to walk. This place gets busy on nice summer days and it can be challenging to get a good parking spot, so plan accordingly. The fee to enter is $9 per vehicle. If you have time, make the hike to the nearby bluffs, you won't be disappointed. Wear proper footwear though, and be careful. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Hugo S — Google review

Honestly, I like most of New York state parks in general. They are usually very clean and comfortable. You can barbecue, swim, camp and fish(only permitted spots) there. The Park also has a small cafeteria, plenty of restrooms and change rooms. In short, there are everything you need for a family or person to have a nice day. If you are looking for quietness and little bit of peace then I would recommend weekdays. Mostly Monday-Wednesdays are less crowded than Friday-Saturdays. If you are coming on weekends in hot summer times, definitely come early to get your spots.

Fair Haven State Park is someplace my family has come for at least 3 generations. The beach is huge and offers lots of space to enjoy the sun, play in the sand, and swim safely. The picnic grounds are enormous, space for hundreds of families to spread out. Both of the beach areas have large bathroom facilities that are well maintained. The beach cafe is open from Thursday to Sunday throughout the summer months and has a range of basic (and less basic) food for meals and snacks. This place is really what I think of when I think of a traditional picnic and beach experience on Lake Ontario. Walking out the break wall the enjoy the sunset is hard to beat!

Beautiful spot, well cared for grounds and beach. Non-electric campsites are great; good size, well kept, and don't feel cramped. Bathroom/shower facilities are as expected for a camp ground, but surprisingly showers did have plenty of hot water. Playgrounds are well kept and safe for the kiddos.

Such a cute little beach in Upstate NY! Great spots for grilling and picnics and lying out on the beach. Water was chilly around 61 degrees during Memorial Day weekend

Incredible views on beautiful lake!Nice place for camping, swimming or barbecue time on 4 July ☺️

It's a great beach. Well Maintained with nice picnic area. 4-star because of the massive algal growth in one part of the beach. The algae was black and sticking to the bodies, legs. Couldn't see down into the water. They should have closed that part down. The water was stinking from the decaying plankton. There's not much else the park service can do. Algal blooms are happening more frequently in the Great lakes and finger lakes due to runoffs and climate change.

Fair Haven State Beach Park is a captivating destination offering stunning views of Lake Ontario. It boasts an extensive beach area that's well-divided into several sections, accommodating a variety of activities. Amenities are abundant, including restrooms, showers, changing stations, and a handy parking garage.Swimming in Lake Ontario is a delight and certainly a highlight of our visit. Beyond the beach, the park is equipped with grilling facilities - perfect for a relaxing picnic even if you don't fancy a dip. Plus, there's a scenic trail along the lake for those who love to soak up nature.Whether you're a swimmer, a hiker, or just someone who appreciates picturesque views, I highly recommend Fair Haven State Beach Park. It truly has something for everyone!

Went to spend time at the beach. It's pretty shallow. Great for families, especially with little ones and others who don't know how to swim. Sandy beach, sandy water, you're not stepping on a bunch of rocks. Has showers and bathrooms (indoor and outdoor showers). There is an area that is roped off with a bouy line, and there is another area that just goes to the open water.

I found another favorite destination! Stayed three nights at the campground and enjoyed beautiful sunsets, friendly people and peace and relaxation. Spacious sites in the Lakeview loop although only two offering electric. Restrooms and showers very clean. Made it down to the beach to watch the swans. Beach area and surrounding park very well maintained. Lots of areas for hiking and biking and plenty of picnic tables and grills for anyone looking for a one day getaway. There is truly something for everyone here.

Thank you New York State ! Visited for the eclipse, unfortunately, the clouds rolled in. But you opened the park for free, had plenty of personnel directing cars, you opened the concessions and had experts giving lectures on the eclipse !! Fantastic time.

One of my favorite beaches and parks. Clean beach nice sand without rocks. Clean water (lake Ontario) you can see the minnows swim around. Sand bar goes on and on before the water gets deep. Dogs not allowed on the beach area. Camping provided. Dogs permitted on leash. Love how you can see the bluffs and the large reef. The reef was under construction when we visited. Lots of shade in the park with beautiful trees. All kinds of nature. Birds deer etc

Cindy M — Google review

I had an amazing time. The beach was clean, the sand was beautiful. We weren't able to walk the bluffs because the gate was up, but it was a really great time

Stephani M — Google review

We only had 1 night here so we didn't get much time to explore. Beach was quiet but it was really nice. Clean campground with lots of friendly people. Bathrooms are clean and easily accessible. Not too much privacy between campsites. We were at campsite 81. But this would be a great place if you are meeting friends and want to share a couple campsites side by side.

Kristen G — Google review

Went up for the eclipse but would return for the park. Looks like a well maintained park with lots of options for everyone. Such a pretty place - great day spent with great company. Very organized and well appointed.

Love this beach! It’s big enough to be able to have your own space, places to rinse off, clean bathrooms, and showers.

Eli — Google review

100% yes to this park! This is our second time camping here, our first was two years ago when we rented a cabin. We really enjoyed our first time but this time, with a spot right on the water, it was too perfect! The view was just phenomenal and because our spot was the last on the water side, it was very quiet (even though the park was packed). There’s a wonderful beach, hiking trails, wild flowers everywhere AND they will bring firewood to you! Love love love. The only two downfalls (to this site specially) is that the water isn’t swimmable, but that didn’t keep the dogs out… swamp creatures all weekend. The bathrooms were also a hike to get to from this site.

Rebecca T — Google review

Watched the sunset from the beach—so beautiful.Folks on the beach, fishing and sitting on their tailgates. All respectful and enjoying the peaceful surroundings alongside each other. Saw lots of nice campsites on our way in, campfires and laughter. Worth the $9 entrance fee, though I hear you can see the sunset north of Fair Haven for free.

The Seward House Museum, once the home of influential politician William Henry Seward, showcases his personal belongings, artwork collection, and library. Seward held various political positions throughout his career and served as Secretary of State under Presidents Lincoln and Johnson. The museum offers guided tours to visitors daily from Tuesday to Sunday during specific hours. Situated near other historic sites and attractions like the Willard Memorial Chapel and Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, it provides a glimpse into 19th-century history.

Jeff and Sharon rocked this tour. So much history in this beautiful house. The tour was about an hour 15 minutes and we had time to self-tour after. Underground Railroad stop in basem*nt was a bonus. This tour was well worth the money and the time

Marie F — Google review

Very interesting! The staff is so knowledgeable and passionate about their work. It's a guided tour only and was very informative. They give you plenty of time to look at everything and ask questions. The house and contents were beautiful!

Patti S — Google review

Didn't go inside. Had reservations at Tubman's home. But we toured the park and surround property

Great tour. Lots of information. Does require standing for long periods and stairs. It's totally worth it if you are able.

Very interesting history about a player in the political arena during the time proceeding and following the civil war. Lots of famous connections and a very interesting backstory to the purchase of Alaska.

Fabulous historic house. 90% of the items in the house are original to the Seward family. He was the Secretary of State for Lincoln. They do a great job. It's definitely worth it.

Lynne B — Google review

My history class from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) loved our tour of this site! Our guide Jeff is a wealth of knowledge and has an obvious passion for the history of the Seward family. We were also joined by a pair of interns who enhanced our appreciation for the immense collection of artifacts and their stories here. Our class was especially curious about 19th Century social activism in the abolition and women’s suffrage movements, and Jeff had just as much information to offer about Frances as he did about William. Don’t be afraid to ask about Frances, or even the family’s ties to Harriet Tubman, for that matter. So much to learn here!

Nice to see and hear the history of the family and the house. You get to see pretty much the whole house. We had an awesome tour guide, tons of information and very friendly.

Really nice visit. Sam, the docent, told lively stories and the house is filled with authentic pieces from the Seward family

Brad P — Google review

This is a great historical gem! The Seward's did not discard the items they owned, they stored them and now the fill the house. The docent that took us on an hour and a half tour made this history come alive. We've been to many historical homes over the years and I believe this is at the very top. If you get to Auburn, don't miss this opportunity! If this review was helpful, please give it a like.

Terri M — Google review

Love the Seward House and the staff. Our storyteller for the haunted history tour was wonderful. An interesting and fun evening.

Sarah M — Google review

Fascinating tour. The docent really knew her stuff. We learned about Mrs. Seward's abolition campaign and work with Harriet Tubman's Underground Railroad. The story of Seward's folly was given in great detail. Everything in the museum is from Seward's actual life and times.

The tour guide was simply amazing. Very, very interesting family that shaped history in ways that I was unaware of. Bummed out that the house is not being maintained better. It’s a real gem.

Very enjoyable afternoon. Wine tasting followed by a glass of wine and a beer then delicious pizza. Wine is well done. Wine bar offers their wines plus a good variety of ales/beers. Wood fired pizzeria and more for when hungry. Very friendly service all around!

Ken M — Google review

A small group of us visited the winery today for wine tastings. We were not part of the Holiday wine event going on so we were surprised when we had our wine tasting poured into plastic shot glasses. I would not have any problem with this if we went to tequila tasting however I would never pour the quality of wine this vineyard produces into plastic. Our group did buy the boxed red plus a couple additional bottles. We possibly would have bought more wine if the taste was enhanced in the proper serving glass. My recommendation is to switch back to the flights and glass so one can appreciate the quality of your wine! Staff was excellent in accommodating our needs so I commend them!

We decided to take a day trip from Syracuse to have lunch at Colloca Estate Winery and a hike at Fair Haven State Park. It wasn't busy in the outdoor dining area when we arrived at about 12:15 on a Thrusday, although several additional couples trickled in after we arrived. The pulled pork sandwich was very good. The Sililian sandwich also was very good and was huge. The Sicilian Tomato Potato Salad side sounded interesting but was disappointing (we both got that side and neither of us liked it or finished It).Counter service was friendly and prompt (we were the only ones ordering at the time) and our food came out in about 10-15 minutes. You have to go to the bar at the other end of the seating area to get wine. We were in the mood for a Reiling but they were out of 2 of the 3 Rieslings on the menu. We ordered the available Riesling - it was good, but the bottle price seemed a bit high for us. We'd return of we were in the area.Edited to add: We were taken aback by the "response from the owner". Seriously - we're at a winery, not a high end restaurant (at best it’s an outdoor cafeteria). Tacking on an additional $5 depending on where at the winery you buy the wine is, well, tacky. And chiding your customers because they don't want to spend $25 on a bottle of wine is arrogant and not the way to win or keep customers. Guess we won't be back after all.

RCL — Google review

We went here to see the total eclipse and it was fantastic. If I didn't know any better, I'd think they had eclipse viewing events every week. The whole thing was so well organized (parking, food, music, vendors, themed souvenirs), it was truly a joy. They had plenty of bathrooms to accommodate the large groups. Everyone on staff that we encountered was friendly and great at their job.Kudos to Colloca, we'll be talking about it for years to come. And next time we're in the area, we'll stop by again.

Came for a wedding. The area was beautiful and breath-taken. I had wished there was a better parking spot as the rain made it very muddy for a wedding. The food was wonderful. Upstairs was difficult for the older quests to climb with drink and plate in hand. It would have been nice to have a buffet station Upstairs as well as down. Or a service dummy. I refrained from most as it was difficult for me and the stairs.

Beautiful place!! Gorgeous chandeliers, clean ladies bathroom, nice water view. First time visiting Colloca for the New Years celebration. It was well organized, well decorated, the food and appetizers were delicious. The package also included the coffee bar and a glass of champagne at midnight. The music during dinner was pleasant and DJ for dancing was fun. All the guests were respectful and everyone had a great time. The price package was reasonable for New Years; however, there was a cash bar, which I thought the drinks were a bit high priced. The staff were attentive. It is located closer to Oswego, which it was a better option to us, instead going to Syracuse. I definitely recommend Colloca for New Years event if they are promoting again in 2024-2025. I'm looking forward to visit this place on the summer months. Thanks Colloca team for a fun New Years party!

Adriana M — Google review

As a wedding venue, it is lovely! I'm sure the pictures will be beautiful! The staff that were wandering with plates of appetizers obviously haven't been trained very well for the position. The food was pretty good.

I stopped in here on a Saturday with a small group of people to enjoy the views and the good wine. We made a reservation for a table, which was a good idea considering how busy they were! We were seated quickly and brought menus of their food and wine/cider options. They had a big assortment and offered flights of wine as well as cider or beer which was great. Our waitress was funny and checked on us frequently and also knowledgeable about the food they served. We got a pear pizza and some calamari for the table, you are also still currently required to order food.Overall I found it a little expensive for what you got, but it was beautiful inside and tasty. I'd just keep in mind that you're paying for the atmosphere.I'd recommend a stop in!

Colloca is one of my favorite places! I have yet to taste a wine there that I don’t enjoy. The staff is courteous and very knowledgeable. The food at the lounge is great, I particularly enjoy the salad bar and broiled haddock. The pizza from the outdoor kitchen is delicious, though I’m really hoping they bring back the Bianco pizza soon! The wine club is an amazing deal, I recommend it to friends. We are members and visit frequently, especially now that the outdoor kitchen is open again. Sitting outside with good food and wine (and often good music) at Colloca is a great way to spend an afternoon!

Kim M — Google review

Great view and friendly staff. Unfortunately, they didn't have the pizza up and running yet and very limited food choices were available. We will be back though. Music is great. Lots of picnic tables. Would be great to add more Adirondack chairs and/or patio heaters and fire pits.

A Beautirul setting in the Lake Ontaruo area. The 9 year old tasting room and the excellent facilities for large groups make this a destination rather than a stop. Excellent large free parking. Easy access for wheelchair bound patrons and a beautiful view of the Vinyard.

What a beautiful place! My husband and I spent this past weekend in Sterling NY and before we arrived at the cabin stopped in for the tasting. Alought I was a was a bit disappointed the winery was out of the Mandy's giggle wine I was pleased with the white wines. We bought a bottle of the dry resling. Refreshing and delicious. My husband prefers reds and the reds available for tasting suited his pallet. We enjoyed the Payella Bay festival Colloca Winery hosted during our weekend stay. The seafood and meat Payella was delicious sangria wine was refreshing and I loved the idea of a spoon came with your glass to scoop out the Watermelon and blueberry fruits. The music was excellent. We deff will return next Summer for the festival.

I had a terrible lunch at Colloca. We walked in and sat ourselves at 1:05…..it was slow. The we proceeded to watch 10 other tables that came in after us get served. We went back to the counter and asked politely where our food was. The woman who looked like she was in charge explained to me that she was doing the best she could and that she would tell her manager…………no manager approached us. It took her 15-20 minutes to serve everyone their meals. She served my food at 2:10 with a copy of our check to show us it was off the check. My question is “where was the manager she spoke with? We were refunded for my meal. ………..below is a picture of my Shrimp PO boy. Will not be back!SP

The Harriet Tubman Home Museum is the former residence of a renowned abolitionist who was born into slavery but later became an activist. She rescued numerous enslaved individuals through her involvement in the Underground Railroad, with 70 people being freed under her leadership across 13 missions. The museum offers an intriguing insight into this important aspect of American history and is a must-see for anyone interested in learning about the struggles faced by slaves and those fighting for their freedom.

Wonderful visit as always!!! I’ve been bringing students here for almost a decade and our tour guide never disappoints! Funny, engaging, and historically poignant- lecture is superb.

I really wanted to learn more about Harriet Tubman. Her story is truly one of faith, heartbreak, and perseverance. It was a wonderful tour and was very informative. I learned so much more about this magnificent woman. I also believe we had a "visitor" during the tour inside one of the property homes.

Jenn S — Google review

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Harriet Tubman home and museum! They have tours at 10 am and 2 pm. The tour was $7/adult and lasted approximately 2 hours. Very informative, and Reverend Carter was extremely knowledgeable and gave an excellent tour.4 stars because we would have liked to see more of the Harriet Tubman home specifically, but it was under renovations when we visited.

Always fascinating story of the Underground that secreted the slaves away from the terrible life of the slaves in previous century. Slaves have existed since man, but that doesn't make it okay. It's a must see. Make your Reservation. Cheap. 5 buck. But call. Make your reservation. And be on time. 10 am and 1 pm. And be on time

One of the highlights of my family’s trip to the area, unanimously agreed upon by all 5 of us! Paul has a warmth and enthusiasm about him that instantly gets you comfortable during the tour, and the love and knowledge he has on Harriet really brings her to life. I don’t think my attention has been completely captured like that for quite a long time. I learned so much about her and have a renowned awe and appreciation for this incredible woman. Definitely definitely visit, chat with Paul, and donate some funds to this important site! I hope to visit again when the additional projects being worked on are completed, God willing :)

The small exhibition in the visitors center starts coming to life when your host starts telling about Mrs. Tubman / Davids. The host could easily starts his own cabaret show ;-) His knowledge about the life of Mrs. Tubman / Davids, is excellent. His storytelling is one of a kind and really worth your time. So make sure you are there a bit before the tour starts, so you can walk around yourself in the visitor center. Because the tour is a seated event in front of a long time line.Don’t miss this opportunity!!!

Forever grateful to the people that keep this tour running. It is key to note that this experience is funded and maintained by a church. There is no state support. Any criticisms anyone has about staffing and tour times should start there first. The tour is phenomenal, though small and in transition, and packed with information about one of the greatest contributors to American history. Just to be in a space where Harriet spent time is incredible. I can't wait to return when the home has been restored.

This was a moving experience, a good time to reflect on the life of Harriet Tubman and all her work, nursing, military service, underground railroad, business owner. The list is longer than many realize. Paul, who gives the tour, and has given the tour for over 30 years, is wonderful in bringing Harriet Tubman to life. To say he was informative is an understatement. Thank you. Everyone should visit here, and give some thought....

Amazing tour told through dramatic oration. The cost for adults is $7. Tours are held 10AM/2PM. You should call to reserve. Be prepared to want to give more than admission to support needed continued reatoration for buildings. The heart of Harriet is definitely felt on site.

This was like stepping back in history. Harriet Tubman was such an amazing woman. To see where she lived was a great moment. We could only see the outside of the house and barn, but they also have a wonderful center and a tour guide who tells the history very well. Definitely worth going.

Kate W — Google review

I truly enjoyed the visit to this historical site. The tour guide shared many interesting facts about Mother Harriet’s life and had us captivated as well as laughing at some of the stories. The life of Harriet Tubman was astounding and inspiring; but also a grave reminder of the history that plagues this nation. We were not able to enter one of the buildings as it is being repaired. A second building we were able to partially enter. The visitor center contained a timeline of her life and other information related to the abolitionist movement and the civil war. Even though we couldn’t enter all of the buildings, it was well worth the visit. And I can’t wait to return after some of the repairs take place.

Tamara C — Google review

The house you see on the tour itself isn't where she lived but where she housed people she helped, and is too small to justify a trip specifically for that, but the presentation on her life story was one of the best presentations I've ever experienced and well worth the $7.

Ahmed A — Google review

If you are on a roadtrip through New England you definitely need to stop at Harriet Tubman House. The couple who tells the story about Harriet is super nice. Also be aware of the visiting time. First he will tell you about Harriets biography in an extraordinary way of storytelling! It was an experience we wont forget. After she will show you around the property and the house. Put it on your To-See-List!

There is so much to learn here! This historic location deserves so much more praise and support than it receives! My classmates and I from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) visited this site as a part of a week-long research visit through Central New York. Our class was focused on the history of social activism in the 19th century, especially in the Abolition and Women’s Suffrage movements. Considering Harriet’s contributions to both of these social movements, let’s just say that it would be an understatement to say that our experience here was special. Harriet Tubman Davis does not get the credit she deserves! Today, we can help to rectify that injustice by visiting and supporting this well-preserved/restored location. To everyone who contributes to the operation of this site and the preservation of this powerful woman’s story, on behalf of UTSA, thank you so very much.

Nidal — Google review

Phenomenal. It’s been a day since our visit and this experience has become engrained in me. The story telling is quite encapsulating and delivered with a powerful reverence. You’ll be pulled into Harriett’s life in a way you weren’t expecting, and you’ll leave a little different. You’ll have felt the weight of her pain in your hand - that aspect is a necessary heartbreaking lesson that should stick with you. You will laugh at times but always in the context of a life of her courage and struggle. The museum itself is well laid out, with many informative and easy to understand stories and a detailed timeline with context. Metal folding chairs are provided for the very powerful and moving presentation. Following you’ll go on a brief tour of an adjacent home from the grounds containing period like items.Highly recommended.

This was so interesting and the guy who runs the tour is the best tour guide I’ve had. He made it so interesting and engaged with us all. It was honestly underpriced for what you got. Next time we are there I know I will visit again just for the presentation given.

We stopped by while driving from Canada and so we showed up late. Just 10min before the museum building was closing. Was still allowed to go in even with our little doggy. Friendly people. The houses outside can be viewed after the museum closes but the inside of the homes is being renovated. We only got to see the outside of the homes but it was still a great experience to be able to see where history happened.

This is an excellent place to visit while in the Finger Lakes region. Chris was helpful and informative when we entered the Visitor's Center and gave great advice about what birds we would probably see on each of the trails. We had not read anything about it, but just happened upon the center and so glad we did! Great collaborative venture between the state of NY and Audubon.

I have never actually been in the center as it has been closed each time I visit. Last time we were there the feeders were empty and the look-out was roped off with caution tape. However, there are some nice trails beyond the building and all the way around the large pond and through the woods. Some nice bird sightings. There are both shaded trails and open ones and none that I have tried were anything other than flat ground for easy walking.

Sarah S — Google review

Incredible bird tour by the director of the facility. The nature has a diverse terrain providing habitat for many different birds. There is a nice building which serves as a miniature museum. All in all, it was a good memory for me. If you don’t do the bird tour it might not be as great of an experience.

Went on a 2 hour kayak birding tour on the Erie Canal and Clyde River, with Montezuma Audubon Wildlife educator Amanda. Pace was leisurely so we could pause to listen and look for birds. Plentiful birds to see including, lots of blue heron and a fledgling eagle. There were turtles and jumping fish. Amanda was very informative and safety conscious. She also worked very hard getting us all in and out of our kayaks. All of the kayaks were wide (harder to tip over), lots of legroom, and have beach chair like inserts that provide more back support as well as being easier on the joints. Great activity!

The Montezuma Audubon Center is an amazing place to study birds, reptiles and other wildlife native to the State of NY. The center is really big with many rooms full of displays and artwork and maps of the region. They host events year round, the most recent event being their annual Earth Day celebration. There are numerous outdoor trails to hike on with posted signs for self guided tours. During events there are guides with lots of knowledge. There are also trails to drive on as well but you must proceed with caution and respect all creatures in their environment. I'm bringing my family back multiple times this year to enjoy each season because nature grows in different stages and each scene is a different experience. You can being your dogs and cats or whatever as long as they are on leash and you clean up after it. I give this place 5* and recommend for anyone any age. Another reason why #iloveny
