Joe was known for his big smile and even bigger personality. He never met a person he didn't like, especially since it provided him with a new audience to listen to his antics from the last nine decades. Joe was born in Loogootee on May 17, 1933 and lived there most of his life. Joe was very active in Boy Scouts and earned the coveted honor of Eagle Scout in 1947.
