Okay here's the results of round five. Your favorite Hitchco*ck movie is:

Movie Top Ten - the 1950s (6)

Psycho (1960)
This is a psychological horror film starring Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins. It is the story of a secretary who
ends up at Norman Bates Hotel where she is being punished for stealing money from her employer. The movie
was low budget and was filmed in black and white. It is based on a book with the same name. This movie is
considered one of Hitchco*ck's most important films and have spawned a number of remakes and sequels. It is
also a groundbreaking movie for the horror slasher genre. The most famous scene from the movie is undeniably the
shower scene.

You gave it a total of: 82 p

Here's the original trailer for the movie:

Okay now it's time for round six and I figured it was time for something a bit more light-hearted so we'll list this genre:

Comedy is a film genre that is intended to be humorous and make the audience laugh. This is one of the oldest genres and has been around in the theatre since the Ancient Greece. It has spawned a lot of subgenres such as: Parody, satire, black comedy, romantic comedy, screwball comedy, burlesque, farce and slapstick. But quite simplified one can say that comedies are meant to be funny.

So which is your favorite comedy movie?

I agree with you BF. Hitchco*ck definitely should have won an Oscar for best director. But at least they had the good sense of giving him an Honorary award which is better than nothing!

But yes he was very talented and is actually my favorite director as well. I'm especially impressed with his very detailed storyboards. Movie Top Ten - the 1950s (22)

Yes, I was also thinking about Ice Age and that kind of movies, but I guess Karin will tackle these in another movie top ten.

There are of course the Laurel & Hardy movies, but I don't remember any specific story or title. I think they were usually shown as 10 minutes sketches.

I'm not sure I can make the same promise as there's something about the "Sällskapsresan" movies that I find hilarious so I might include at least one of those films in my list! Movie Top Ten - the 1950s (55)

Muriel´s Wedding

Great choice, Toni.

When I saw your list I had a panic and had to check I'd included Muriel in my all-time top ten.

Luckily I had. Phew!
